In addition to the counting stats, he has the highest +/- on the team and of any player in the playoffs. The on/off stats also frequently point to him as the most impactful player. Sometimes he gets in shooting slumps. But his ability to rebound, pass, draw fouls, and defend matter. They impact winning.
And yet everyone acts like he's trash, even Boston fans. I don't get it. The numbers are great. He's had plenty of big performances in important games. He scored 10 in OT the other night, the most anyone's scored in the playoffs since 2021. He closed out Philly last year with 50. He came up huge down the stretch of Game 6 in that series. He destroyed Brooklyn and thoroughly outplayed Durant in 2022. He even had multiple great games in that Miami series last year that everyone wants to forget.
