Honestly, probably the best choice for USWNT. I know she doesn’t have any international experience, but she knows how to manage talent - which Vlatko didn’t. Plus a lot of the big egos/personalities are already gone or on their way out so she won’t have to deal with that (and Vlatko was way too weak to ever stand up to his locker room). I think she’s the perfect fit for this new generation of US players, especially as the competition level has been raised around the world.

I am happy that Emma is taking over. I feel like she is the best available person for the job. It will be her way or the highway for the players. She is in charge 100 %, which is needed....

These sports casters keep saying "the worst women's world cup finish ever". Maybe they should include two facts. 1) There is always going to be a worst everything. 2) One of the reasons it's the worst is because, up to this year, the USWNT had won, literally, mathematically, half of the Women's World Cups (full stop).

Emma Hayes is very strict but fair to her players. No politics just football. She is going to win several world cups with the United States.

It’s unfortunate we couldn’t get her before the World Cup. I think she would have shaken up that roster a bit. She definitely feels like a manager where if you don’t produce she will just let you go

As a Chelsea fan I can say this is terrible news but good luck to Emma.
If anyone can do it Emma can.

Great to see Ray Parlour doing so well post his playing career. Not many pros make a success of it. Bravo Sir👏👏👏

Easily the best candidate and the right choice. The challenges for Emma Hayes would be; changing the culture, raising the standards, instilling a clear philosophy of play and identity. And, making this group likeable and respected again. She has an outstanding winning resume as an elite Manager, and the step up to International level wont phase her one bit.

Phenomenal coach and very happy! But, she has two major problems in front of her: 1) will the US Federation and US Soccer allow her to be her and do her job, and 2) the primadonna players on the US squad who will constantly complain they are not getting their way. This includes veterans like Morgan who still thinks she's 22 years old, and newbie players who are already getting million dollar contracts who don't feel like they have to change or improve.

Hayes is good, but in both men and women's games we've seen how club is very different from country. I would have preferred someone with international experience, but I'll hope for the best from her.

I predict a wave of retirement "decisions" by veteran players (likely just given the pink slip) and I cant wait to see it; no disrespect to them.

Like the player who just captained her team to the NWSL shield and the ones leading their teams to to championship game. I predict they would have earned a couple of quadrennial world championships and Olympic gold medals. You, on the other hand, will get old, die (thankfully) and have nothing of the sorts.

At this point, every coach moving forward will have a massive challenge trying to ground this toxic group of individuals who only care about their brand 😢

Personally I think they will use the Olympics as a stepping stone towards next world cup, so don't expect them to win the Olympics.
