- Emma Hayes spoke movingly and passionately when she was given the FWA Tribute Award on Sunday January 21 at the FWA Gala dinner in London. The Chelsea Women's manager spoke about her career, paid tribute to other women in football and the media, and thanked her parents, particularly her father Sid who sadly passed away last year. Our thanks to Sky Sports for their edited highlights package which is included here, after introductions from FWA Committee member Jacqui Oatley and FWA Chair John Cross.

The poor geezer who introduced Emma could not afford glasses and a suit that fit him. Sad and very distracting too. From my experience, effective public speaking is all about getting over your message. The fewer distractions n delivering that message, the more likely it will be received and understood.
