- After OG Fortnite came out back in November, we saw a massive rise in popularity in the game. In Chapter 5 Season 2, we see that FNCS numbers have dropped significantly. Does this mean Fortnite is dying again?

I’ve been looking for this sort of competitive analysis of the game outside of people like just Aussie antics. The constant flowing off of each other and the differencing opinions is something else. I’ve never watched a podcast format, and I wouldn’t think in 1 million years it would be about Fortnite competitive.
Couldn’t have said it better myself. This is original thought here being shown and I cannot reiterate how refreshing it is to hear.
My personal (unpopular) opinion:
- Last season had better mythics, guns , medaillons and movement.
- Ninja turtles update was far better than the Avatar update
- Map changes made the game worse: Locations of Mythic POI are far from optimal and some spots on the map you rarely visit.
- Dashes encourages cringe playstyle (running away, or ultra sweaty)
- Getting Zeused is just as annoying like the deku smash wich make builds less powerfull
- Bunkers are a downgrade to the caches and vaults
- The island is almost worthless this season gives almost no reason to fight for it
- No siphon encourages a third party playstyle why ranked isnt as good as arena
- To many bots to hire
- To many bugs
- No possibilty to upgrade for weaponsto make it legandary
- This season is to far of from the OG roots
This all brings a snowball effect. When your friends are playing other games the rest will follow in the eventually. No worries for the future of Fortnite tho. There always will be a lesser season.
yeah i agree with most of this especially the better medallions because this season there is only 1 good medallion maybe 2 if you count siphon but the grim game medallion is just so busted that which ever team has it instantly gets predicted to win fncs i also miss caches and i miss movement alot the grapple blade was the best piece of movement we have ever had in my humble opinion in terms of balance and how easy it is to get
No movement is the worst part
@@arcashark389 100% movement kept games more alive allowed more people to have more mats and allowed people to move around the map at a somewhat fast speed compared to what we have now where 1 player in the lobby is fast the rest just have to walk

My gripes.
-Medallions arent worth fighting a boss for. Need that Chapter 2 season 2 boss style back.
-The rank up is hard af this srason, also you should be able to drop from Unreal
- The whole season just doesn't feel like they go together
They shouldn't make it so you can drop from Unreal, unless that means they make ranking up easier. Because rn once you hit Elite or Champs, you barely go up no matter how much u dominate, but it's so easy to go down.

I'm a chapter 1 player, I've always loved the game but it gets annoying when there are just certain things that are always broken and there are then no new changes. I've just tried to play 3 games and water bending is still broken, everyone still runs across the whole map with air bending, Grim gate medallion is still way too op. Like it's not fun when 1 person is so op and where you have to use certain things otherwise you can't compete

Should be 3 week qualifiers. Also though, a lot of my friends quit this szn due to decreased performance of the game. It is so much laggier this szn from last.
One shot sniper, auto shotgun, bs anime mythic, op dash medallion meta still continues. No good ARs three seasons in a row. New C5 greedy pricing strategy while locker is still dysfunctional. Game braking bugs like teammates not visible on map.
The one thing that I hate about Fortnite right now is how the medallions are grouped in both of the biomes not spread out like last season
Remove the medallions from FNCS and have a generally available movement utility e.g. grapple. The Dash and Siphon are a massive advantage to whoever holds them but if everyone has a chance at a decent movement item? Levels it out a bit, IMO.
The reason the player base is lower is bc this season is cheeks and epic is doing a terrible job with cheaters that’s really ab it more than half my friends quit this season bc they just straight up are not having fun at all.
Especially after having had Season OG, which was fire even though they added nothing from certain seasons. However, C5 S1 wasn't that fun either way.

I personally just don’t play comp because I get 65 ping to central and it is not enjoyable but definitely still like watching
i got the same amount of points both weeks (240) but placed a couple thousand spots higher second week
I think you should be able to compete in your own servers hence more people getting known in there area and getting rid of the unfair advantage of 0 ping
I would change the amount of players who qualify for the next round higher especcaly in Europe so more player actually feel rewarded for competing and even xbox players think they got a chance Inwold change it to Like top 10000 duos to Top 2000 to top 250 i think this would improve the player counts a lot
Played a lot last season compared to previous seasons and then haven’t really played this season not sure why

It's (I'm a huge sweat so don't call me bad) but this season the Ranked is insanely hard. Getting to Elite this season is about the same as Unreal last season.

I’m not enjoying this chapter for the most part the whole attachment system and stuff is confusing. Also sometimes it seems that the developers changed stuff just to change stuff. But one thing I think they do have to do is make victory cups more money bump it up to 200 a win 100$ isn’t much now a days it gets you two weeks of groceries that’s all. And let’s not forget epic is a multi billion dollar company.

Interesting video! What is the most effective strategy for reintroducing people to Fortnite competitive and motivating them to keep playing? There's a chance that we'll see the OG Midas Chapter 2 season at the end of this 2024 year. I am in complete agreement that a crazy tournament concept is necessary for the 2024 OG season. Then how to keep players excited for the entire chapter 6? Making the official announcement for World Cup 2 is necessary to maintain player excitement for competitive play at the start of chapter 6. Even as cash prize, we can't expect 30 million dollars. The year will be filled with nostalgic vibes and serious players, leading to mass viewership for World Cup 2.There are many retired players I know who will return to compete in the "Fortnite World Cup".Bugha's 3 million dollar win inspired me to play competitively, and I'm confident that others felt the same way. Although I may not cash in my entire life, playing a major tournament like the World Cup qualifier is the best thing ever.I will personally feel reborn into Fortnite competitive and stay motivated throughout the entire 2025 year.Also Chapter 6 season 3 can be expected to receive more attention during the summer. From my perspective, if they persist with the global championship next year, Fortnite competitive could be damaged if they don't make this announcement for the World Cup 2 edition.
After chapter 6, the excitement level of the chap 6 second season will drops significantly. Fortnite's goal is to become a metaverse rather than a competitive game, as I see.Unfortunately, if that's the case, I (we) may choose something else than Fortnite, something very competitive and hyped.I It's unfortunate that the effort to bring new players is causing them to lose competitive players. I'm not going to talk about how they damaged the Fortnite event and storyline, which is also a reason to leave Fortnite in general. I am optimistic that they will move in the right direction next year in 2025 since the global championship in Texas is the end of this 2024 years.
Movement sucks which is why I hardly play anymore. Hate the weird walkJog and sidejogs like it sucks and feels clunky. Even after 2 chapters I hate it
The medallions are lame as hell. Why would it be smart to give one player an advantage as useful as infinite teleportation.

I hope it dies, trash game controllers kills gaming on Keyboard and mouse not fun for cross platform, fortnite 10b company offers competitive trash servers with 32 tickrate for 100 players, shotgun horribles auto better than pump joke skill gap, gameplay horrible just everything laggy clunky , fov bouncing every where, trash fight in 1by1 box forcing to glitch by breaking a wall
