Fantasy FM (Betamax Edit) - Tenalock (Synthwave Synthpop)

The first track on the Tempo Tantrum album, it is a bit of as grower.
I wanted to make some more uptempo synthwave tracks that would translate to the dance floor or good car stereo sound system with some good frequencies.
For sure some late 80s synth pop influences, I would say Vince Clarke influences with lots of layering and synth parts for a really big sound. I added a couple of build ups to get things interesting and made sure there was good groove.
I was going to use my Casio CZ101 phase distortion synth on this but it is a sick right now. Just a dodgy power connection which is nothing compared to the disaster going on with some of my other classic analog synths dying. Being 40 years old now they have unfortunately become financial liabilities after decades of service. So the Moog and Sequential Prophet 5 as ever.
Anyway back to the music, I got a bit of influence from early 90s Trance gurus Jam and Spoon because I am a huge fan of their tracks Stella and Age of Love. If you never heard them check them out! Injustice love the vocal choir sound they use, and of course Gurus Depeche Mode use similar sounds I really like. They often come from synths like the PPG wave and synclavier that use recorded sounds, even the Beatles used a Fairlight.

More very soon because youtube has already proven a very effective way to get my music listened to, a very hard thing to achieve today with 20 000+ new tracks released a day today.
