- Lieutenant General Vinod G. Khandare, a distinguished former officer of the Indian Army, currently serves as the Principal Adviser in the Ministry of Defence. With a remarkable 38-year career, Gen. Khandare has worn many hats, including roles such as Director General of the Defence Intelligence Agency and Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff for Intelligence from Nov 2015 to Jan 2018. His extensive experience in the Infantry involved operational tasks in Siachen, Jammu & Kashmir, Sikkim, and the North East region.

On this podcast ….. I have few takes…
1) Technology has to enable n strengthen our Defence forces on ground but can’t replace them .. learning from ongoing ISRAEL WAR!!
2) We can correct , adjust n guide with our friends but we need to only FIGHT with our enemies ( hats off to our being human @ all levels of Indian army/ defence forces)
3) We need to ensure that it does not happen to us & hence ho back to basics always when our sovereignty is questioned
I am so humbled n blessed to listen to this high quality of content from Gen Khandare & lot of gratitude to Mrs Samita ji & his colleague for conducting this amazing amazing podcast !! 🙏🙏❤❤

Lt Gen VG Khandare engages in a very comprehensive discussion on national security covering all possible aspects like data security, importance of human role in warfare, indigenisation, self-reliance, role of patience in military responses, and many more. He aptly emphasises that a man (soldier) is an irreplaceable and effective aspect of warfare which the technology must only aim to make more effective rather than trying to replace him. This fallacy has been proved wrong again and again with the latest being on the border of Israel and Gaza.
The discussion was made richer by examples from a wide spectrum of Gen Khandare's personal experiences - both on the front line and on the strategic appointments he has held.
A very comprehensive discussion worth every second of the talk.

Distinctly remember getting into trenches in 1965 and 1971 in Delhi. As a civil defence volunteer we had to patrol railway tracks and enforce black outs.
