@@edilangsultan3522 the camera crew DID obey, infact they asked to be designated a location as to not be in anyone's way so they could do their jobs, the job they were sent there to do, a job the police were in no way shape or form alowed to hinder them in doing. they arrested him even tough he 1, presented ID, name, and that he was a raporter. 2, clearly stated he would obey the police, he didn't even try to resist the arrestation, knowing it wouldn't help him any. if he was a rioter I wouldn't give a fuck if he was arrested, as throwing rocks, ruining things and stopping traffic is not helping anyone. but as he was a raporter, I think the police should just have let him and his crew be.

the police training manual says a person restrained needs to be in the side recovery position and to be monitored until ems arrives. They leave it to common sense that “monitor” the subject means that if the body goes limp and not breathing during restraint, remove your knee from the neck

However, in my opinion, it was not just to arrest a compliant member of the press. Without press there isn’t robust accountability. Additionally, it was wrong for them to not inform him why he was being arrested.

It was at that point when they reporter and his crew were released with all their property. The State Patrol then released a statement which to me had shown that they have no respect for the people who saw this live because they said that the crew did not show their credentials.
As a MN taxpayer, I bet the state paid them off with a clause to not say anything about the settlement before the suit could be filed.

The police should have issued a public apology in a press conference. The officers on scene should have given verbal orders to relocate for safety reasons instead of just using their handcuffs without any explanation. Normally, I am pro-police, but this really should have been handled better.
