Swansea City Association Football Club is a Welsh professional football club based in the city of Swansea, South Wales that plays in the Championship. Swansea City represents England when playing in European competitions, although they have represented Wales in the past. They play their home matches at the Liberty Stadium.
The club was founded in 1912 as Swansea Town and joined the Football League in 1921. The club changed their name in 1969, when it adopted the name Swansea City to reflect Swansea's new status as a city.
In 1981, the club were promoted to the original Football League First Division. It was during the following season they came close to winning the league title, but a decline then set near the season's end before finishing sixth, although a club record. It was from here the club suffered a relegation the season after, returning to the Football League Fourth Division a few seasons later, then narrowly avoided relegation to the Football Conference in 2003. Prior to playing home matches at the Liberty Stadium, the team had previously hosted at the Vetch Field. The Swansea City Supporters Society Ltd owns 20% of the club, with their involvement hailed by Supporters Direct as "the most high profile example of the involvement of a supporters' trust in the direct running of a club".
In 2011, Swansea were promoted to the English Premier League, becoming the first Welsh team to play in the top division since its formation in 1992. On 24 February 2013, Swansea beat Bradford City 5-0 to win the 2012-13 Football League Cup (the competition's highest ever winning margin for the final), winning the first major English trophy in the club's history and qualifying for the 2013-14 UEFA Europa League. - Sport

I love my Swans, but the ref was terrible today. We were so lucky to get the win. I don't feel bad for the opposition though... how many times have we been in that same position in the past. Time and time again we were screwed. It's nice to have luck on our side now.
An unfair game should never be something you're thankful for.

The Reff had a mare a good goal disallowed and a penalty that never was one.
This is great escape for Swansea... Cos of no VAR they got lucky.. This is football before VAR came to mess it up.

They had a goal robbed that’s obvious! As to the Swans pen, Bidwell gets there first the boro player screws himself over and can only blame himself!
He whistled for foul before the player shot the ball. Stop being petty it couldnt be a goal. The whistle made Swansea players to stop attacking.
Well I’ll give my opinions on the two decisions:
Bola disallowed goal: Swans fans saying that Fulton’s ankle was “rolled”. Utter bull, if he had then it’s still not enough. I also don’t think that the kick on Bolasie is a penalty since he was on his way down anyways, so the goal from Bola should of been allowed as there were no fouls in the play.
2. Stonewall IMO, won’t go into much detail but to me this is much more dangerous than Naughton and the Boro boot makes contact with Bidwell as the ball goes flying from the connection.
But the ref had already blown his whistle before the goal so it doesn't stand and is the correct decision.

The analysis shows Saville never made contact with Bidwell and Bidwell kicked through his foot making contact with Saville.
So the penalty should never of been in fact if anything it should of been a free kick to Boro !!

Definitely a penalty, I think the Middlesborough pen shout was probably a pen and not a free kick to swansea, but there's no way you can give the goal because the ref blew the whistle and the swans players stopped playing.. but yeah the swansea pen was 100% a pen, player didn't even get the ball

Warnock banging on about diving. The refereeing decision aside, Fulton didn't pretend to be hurt or dive. See 5:25. Clearly rolls his ankle. I'm not saying a free kick was correct, just saying Warnock is out of order. As for the penalty, their player totally clears out Bidwell, even if he got the ball first. You can't dive in, take the player, and expect not to be punished every time. Media frenzy over what is one bad decision.
2 bad decisions at least the penalty was never one even the ref give a corner initially.

Yes, but it is SwansTV and was streamed and available for Swansea City FC season ticket holders. The match would have been streamed by Middlesbrough too I believe for their season ticket holders, perhaps their commentary may not be too impartial either?

@@chrisgill6239 Therefore this is an example of them not showing bias but being objective as to whether the pen should have been given or not. It's a pity that all or most teams seem this way inclined these days - falling at the slightest of contact and drawing free kicks or pens.
