Hey Dewayne, just an idea, but i would love to see how you pad for saddle fit on different horses. There are a million different ideas on how saddles should fit and the role of saddle pads, and you have mentioned in past videos how you have used a single, well made, saddle on a ton of different horses over the years without soring them.
I'm sure there are a ton of horse people who would appreciate seeing how you handle padding horses with different builds, and what you look for in a good saddle fit for the horse.

That's without a doubt, the cleanest tack I've ever seen.
Good tack is expensive, and is worth keeping clean and taking care of.
Man these are skills that we should not be forgetting. All this technology kids love today can be turned into paperweights if our sun ripps ass in our direction..
There are western belts that hold bullets. You need the same idea to hold your cigars.

Hey Dewayne, I was hoping for some wisdom on being lonely. I recently made a move to pursue something I really want to do in my life. I am seeing tremendous success and I can say "it's happening" gladly. Despite this, however, I find myself alone in a sea of people. My faith of God is rigid, so that only helps, but I don't share a work ethic or lifestyle or anything with anyone who I am around, and I find myself truly alone with only God, but the lack of human interaction and someone to give love to (brotherly, not at all the modern romantic concept) is hurting me and I was hoping you could provide a tidbit to maybe address this, I don't doubt I am the only one experiencing this trouble in their lives.

Im a lady in my 40’s and cant take high heels or really narrow toes (but I do not want square toes) like I used to and it seems like so many women’s boots are designed for fashion over function. Enjoyed this video, funny last video I was wondering what kind of saddle that was...looks super comfortable and well made. Also, and I don't know if this is an east coast thing but I would call your snaffle an egg-butt rather than a D-ring, the egg-butt part is significant as opposed to an plain O ring snaffle cause they can get pinched on the lip by that O ring (just mentioning for new folks who might get confused by stuff...I have noticed different areas of the country sometimes have different terms for things)..
Overall the gear is top quality, looks great and natural materials, which I really like, and like you say you can keep your eye out for deals on some of this stuff :)
Yes, that's an egg butt snaffle in my book too. And I don't know that the style of the cheek pieces have much to do with the mouthpiece metal. I tend to think of sweet iron being found primarily in good western bits and SS being found primarily in good english bits (and chrome and brass in less expensive bits) but that's probably a gross overgeneralization 😂. D-ring snaffles come in two styles -- so-called English Dee and Western Dee. I would have been interested in seeing the mouthpiece. Since Dewayne didn't specify otherwise, I suppose it's just a single joint mouthpiece.
Not a D-ring, it's an eggbutt snaffle. I'm only correcting the statement because in my circle it's the most common snaffle used and it would stand out. And a note on the back cinch, if you're catching a back leg the cinch is too loose and your cinch hobble is too short. The back cinch should be angled slightly forward towards the front cinch down by the belly of the horse. I agree that if someone isn't going to put the effort into doing it correctly then it shouldn't be used.

Sorry to ask, sir, but I'm looking for a new tail hair mecate, namely for a thick-skinned pony I work, the others too, but especially that one, and I'm curious cuz yours looks well made. What brand is your mecate, what diameter is it, and about how much was it? You said you got it on the eBay and it was 22 foot long horse tail hair. I'm trying to compare prices yet still get the quality gear I need. I'll be needing about a 1/2-3/4 inch diameter. Thank you so much for your time.

Hi Dewayne, I know the size of cinch depends on the horse. What sizes do you recommend to buy that will work on a vast majority of horses? Ive heard 32 is a good size.

I thought the hobble was for the stirrips, what is that hanging hobble for?
That is for hobbling the horse when you’re on a lunch break or in camp. When the horse is trained properly, you can put those on his front legs and he knows to stay in one spot. This is very handy if you don’t have a good place to tie horse up

Question from a leather worker, are the gussets on your saddle bags the same leather as the rest of the bags, or is it a bit softer leather so they will stay nice and flat?

Why do you use Wade saddle, if you are not ropping cattle? Such thick horn, to my mind is of no need and not comfortable to hold ..Thanks.
That’s a good question. The thickness of the horn doesn’t matter, in that I don’t grab a hold of it. And you are correct, I don’t rope much. However, what makes a saddle a wade saddle is its unique construction method. With most western saddles, the saddle horn is added separately during construction. With a Wade saddle, the horn is carved out of the same wood that the swells are carved out of. It is all one piece. When they do this, they are able to thin down the gullet underneath the horn. So this sets the saddle down in closer contact to the Horse. I like the ride that this gives me.

Just I asked, because I had other saddle and now have wade saddle too, in it I like round, short skirt...,but I grab the horn, while riding and wade horn is not made for that , so I feel, not that sure, but I am not a specialist...maybe will get used later. The horn is the worst place to grab when you’re riding and you feel unstable. If you think about it, if you reach out and grab that horn and pull on it it actually pulls you up out of your seat. Some people will reach around and grab the Cheyenne roll behind them on the cantle and that will actually pull you back down in your saddle. The other thing is you can put a night latch on your saddle. That’s pretty easy to look up.

When I grab the horn with one hand, it seems like I am not really unbalanced, but just as additional secure, the hand itself wants to have something to hold for some bad case if something happens, thanks to God, nothing bad happened and I can't prove that it helped me any time, so I understood your point and will try not use the horn to grab, but just be more strong with my legs to seat deap and balanced in my seat and really to practice to grab Cheyenne roll in case needed. Thanks!!
