Moving tip for next move, I left all my clothes in existing drawers and just took the drawers out. Moved all hanging clothes in wardrobe boxes and left on hangers. Might save alot of boxing and unboxing especially if your move will be closer hopefully next time.
that is a great idea!! did you just seran wrap the drawers so the clothes wouldn't fall out?
@ashleyforbes yes the movers wrapped everything in moving blankets. Then took removed the drawers to put in the house.
I too have never emptied the draws, with hanging things I tie hangers together but a large bag over them saves on space. Have a really good declutter before moving has always worked for me.
We took our clothes on hangers and put them on a blanket, wrapped them up, and put them in the back of our suv.
It's really sweet that your son is helping you with everything. It's adorable to see him helping you with folding the clothes. I think he will do great either going to prek or kindergarten. You are doing an amazing job getting things put away and getting rid of the boxes. I hope that you and your family are doing well ☺️❤
As some one who loves decluttering, it is so satisfying to see how much stuff you’re decluttering! It’s crazy how you decluttered before moving, and still have so much more to declutter! The same thing happened to me when I moved a few months ago!
It really is so crazy. You don’t realize how much we collect over time that really piles up everywhere! I have so much more decluttering to do! 😅

I hated having to re-hang clothes after a move! We started getting wardrobe boxes so all that we had to do was hang the clothes in the closets. It saves on moving boxes too. We also leave the clothes in the dressers and wrap the entire thing.
I think next move I will try those wardrobe boxes! I was trying to cram as much as I could into as little boxes for this huge move but next move willl be local so I def don’t wanna rehang everything again because it is awful!! Haha 😅

I realize that you don't have a lot of space but I would keep the boxes for the next move instead of recycling them -just to save money.That's just something that popped into my mind watching the video and remembering our ladt move😅 We are also a family of six plus dog

OMG, I have that EXACT same rug from Walmart and I LOVE it. It is solo soft and feels amazing on bare feet.
However, it is like glass and you can slide and fall very easily, so just tell the kids to be careful .😊

So my sons birthday is the same and he was the oldest in pre K and I was so worried but honestly it’s worked out for us. We live in Kentucky where they’re pretty strict on the cut date. So I know that feeling. I’m so glad you guys are getting settled into your new home!
Hi Ashley, I'm so happy you have your stuff, and I bet the kiddos are super excited to have their things. About school I just want to say my 3 grandsons I raise the first one and the 3rd one have birthdays that fall right after school starts and the first one I had to have him repeat 1st grade. It wasn't for the academic it was the maturity. Boys mature a little slower and the last one I waited for the following school year and it's been great. He is also my straight a kid. I think it would be better if you him in pre k first. I'm just sharing my experience and I know every child is different. Definitely talk to the school. ❤

We moved 2 years ago from Utah to Idaho. Packing stresses me out so much. Makes me feel so overwhelmed as I struggle with OCD. Your new house is so pretty
I'm so glad you're getting settled in. Good luck with your house in Texas. I hope it sells. We sold our rental just as COVID-19 started. We had 2 offers too. First one couldn't do it. But the second one came through, we were so glad & lucky to sell it! For moving, I like moving & I know it's tiring. But I don't like unpacking like it's too tedious & we were in a hurry, so I didn't get to throw anything away. So I had to do it as I unpacked. That's a big chore! So I understand! Your family sure is lucky to have a Mom & Wife like you to do everything for them. I had 4 kids, too. I did a lot for them, too! But I didn't drive them to School, once in a while, I did if they got sick, and then I would go get them. I walked to School when I was younger. So I wanted my kids to do that, too! Long awaited video, thank you! You could put the cubical in the closet horizontally, it could give you room to put something else in the boys room to use up the free space next to the bed. Looking forward for more future declutter and organise video's.

I'm PROUD of little man helping you, that's sweet!!! I HATE to think that you might be packing all of this again in a year to move again.Are you plan on building?? Didn't I see your big dresser in the corner of your bedroom? I thought you had to leave some furniture behind. If you're going to be moving again in a year, I would save all them boxes and reuse them. Boxes can be quite expensive to buy.

Hey Ashley, I love seeing your videos every week! I hope that I have the energy to do a load of laundry folded and put away plus get all my steps for my FitBit app today. I can't wait to see all the videos in the new house plus I bet that you're happy because you have your family close to help with the kiddos. The before-&-after shots are always amazing to see! JI really didn't care who won the Super Bowl but I was rooting for the 49ers to win since I have a cousin that loves them. I love the Chiefs too but I think they want to win for the AFC side so. Loading and unloading when moving stresses me out more than anything. I truly hope your home sells for you. A little bit of good luck needed with all the stress you have been dealing with.
I hope all goes smooth with the sale of your house in TX! We just sold our house last summer and boy that was stressful (thankfully it went under contract in 3 weeks). Getting it ready was the crazy part! I love moving though! I'm probably weird, but I feel like it's a fresh start (and house hunting is fun to me). I grew up military and my husband was also military for a while so I've moved every 3 years or less practically my whole life (I'm almost 48)! We've been in our new house for almost a year and I can already feel the itch to move lol. I love our area (northern Shenandoah Valley) and our neighbors, but we really want land and a new build. So that's our next goal. It's going to take a bit though so I'm going to be churning bad by that point haha! Love seeing your house come back together and I agree that once all your stuff finds it's place then it's so much easier to go back and declutter again and organize (and make everything pretty)!

If your four year old is a late birthday past school date to start. As a teacher of forty years, I strongly recommend letting him growth in preschool or pre-K. Kindergarten is not what it used to be. It’s very little social and lots more academics these days. My oldest kiddo was 4 and had to work hard to keep good grades and graduated at 17. Not an adult yet😢. My youngest was 6 in October and was ahead. I just wanted to share not lecture😊❤

My family and I have been living in our car sleeping in our car on the street with our kids for almost. A yeah we just found a townhouse and moved in a couple months now
