this episode shows the glaring flaws in using the points from guts. joezacks early on dominance in the season was nullified by a single third place finish. thats insane
I think that's what Jimmy wanted. Every season except the one they lost, JoeZack absolutely demolished J&J.
Imagine if all three "spill your guts" segments were cut out and played for the 4 guys before the draft. "Slam dunker" would have made Richard a top prospect lol.

That late season band on the long jump
Mike, later in his career (based on his hair it was somewhere between when he was on the show Yes, Dear and when he was on Glee) did a few videos where he would rewatch some GUTS stuff and comment on it. Y'all should look into those. Also apparently ALOT of people ask him if he and Mo ever had a thing, he confirmed it was a no, nothing ever happened, they were just friends (thought it was funny that so many asked him that)

What's y'all's favorite events to watch?
Persoanlly, I wish they'd bring back the track events more often.
The sadistic personality in me really liked the obstacle course. I like that they changed it several times throughout the season, and the double hoop height section was a lawsuit in the making. When I saw that I said to myself "one of these kids is going to f themselves up on this" and boy did we have a lot of really close calls. It showed their problem solving skills in a fast paced setting.
you can't tell if a kid is truly a winner or not until you see if they go high or low on the elastic jungle
I like the roller skates and bike or weird trike events. The long jump, hurdles, basketball and archery are cool. We need the obstacle and elastic jungle back.

I know you all talk about this prior to this season but you might want to talk about giving the winner of the ep a bonus. Using this episode as an example, Jimmy could have been screwed. Going into the crag, Jimmy had already won the ep. However, if purple comes in first and red comes in last on the crag, Jimmy would be in a huge disadvantage because he would be done 750 from Joezach rather than 50 and get stuck with the third pick in the next ep.
Personally I like this format better, it makes each event more important. Even though Jimmy had won the episode, the crag is still very important for the exact reason you outlined. I think that adds drama and makes the game more fun
