Its a arcade game. It doesn't have that feature it was meant for entertainment and try-hard gamers. Yeah it is stupid and it left on a cliff hanger too because the walker is at the back of the bus.

@@byrussscott2563 well did you know there is actually arcade rail shooters that put in different kinds of endings? if i recall the games is called Dark escape, House of the dead, time crisis: razing storm. There is some more but these is the first 3 that came up
It's possible that some of the people the player rescued may have escaped the prison on foot, but we'll probably never know.

Crossbow does absolutely nothing.
Honestly they should've done it where there is multiple endings depending on how many survivors you save and just abandon the bus escape:
Bad ending: Saved non to very little amount of survivors, everyone including you die in the prison by the walker horde.
Mid ending: saved a moderate amount of survivors, your companions die, but the survivors try their best to help you.
Good ending: Save most or all survivors. Everyone survives and manage to clear the prison out, allowing it to be a safe haven.
There’s a few rail shooters that do something similar. House of the Dead and Time Crisis did that.
I remember playing this game at a graduation party and everyone being impressed with how I was playing (which wasn’t that great).
It seemed like I was the only one that understood what a headshot was.
I never knew this game existed. Until me and my girl went to round one. And we played a hell out of this mad fun

These chapters is during the Governors Assault on the Prison? Thats awesome! But the tank ain't there where its supposed to be,
Apparently it’s actually set Pre-Season 3, which, can’t be the case since none of the prisoners are present.
The tank and the watchtowers are the only things this game got wrong, but, the game being set During/Post Governors Assault makes more than it being pre-S3
