  • I love camping coffee and have been using a percolator to make camp coffee. I decided to try the Stanley French Press, specifically the Stanley Adventure All In One French Press to find out if this stainless steel french press makes good french press coffee. I'm hopeful the Stanley adventure all in one french press will make great french press camping coffee!
French press coffee is similar to cowboy coffee in that both methods use corse grounds coffee grounds. The Stanley stainless steel french press can be used with corse ground coffee to make great camp coffee on either a fire or a stove.
The stanley adventure all-in-one boil + brew french press is a very easy coffee system to use while camping. The stanley boil & brew french press requires you to heat water to a boiling point with grounds then just leave it be for a few minutes for outstanding camping french brew coffee. So far, I really enjoy the Stanley adventure french press coffee maker.
The Stanley camping french press is my preferred method of making camping coffee because you do not need to continously use fuel to heat the Stanley adventure all-in-one boil + brew french press. Once the water and grounds come to a boil, remove it from the stove and let is steep for 4 to 5x minutes. This saves of lot of fuel when camping.
As far as being lightweight, the lightweight stanley french press weighs 15oz, which is portable for canoe trips, ATV camping, car camping and for boating. The lightweight stanley french press, is not lightweight enough for backpacking, and as such I would not recommend it be used as such. The Stanley adventure all in one french press is best used for camping when weight is not a consideration.

I've had this thing for years. So handy to boil the water in the press! We always take it for our car camping trips. It's pretty bomb proof!

The cheesecloth bag method you recommended a while back is the lightest most effective way of making coffee when weight is an issue like backpacking. The Stanley French Press is great for day hikes when weight is not as much an issue. Thanks for both suggestions, you know your stuff.

I have that same press. Found it at a thrift store. It is my favorite french press out of the perhaps four that I have used. It does still leave a bit of "sludge" in my coffee even with course ground beans but it is less than any of the other French presses that I have used. If I pour the finished coffee either through a filter or another container and leave sit a few minutes before carefully pouring it into my coffee mug, that will eliminate all the sludge. As for the taste, it makes great tasting coffee. Some of the best I have had and I own around 14 different coffee makers. I get almost all of my coffee makers at thrift stores at a fraction of the original cost so I can justify indulging my coffee maker collecting habit. lol Enjoyed watching your review. As always, a thumbs up on the video my friend.

Ah yes, nothing better than french pressed coffee, especially when camping! I fell in love with the Carribou Mahogany, such delicious coffee. Thanks for the course ground tip, I'll try it😊 Good to see ya! Hopefully, you and the Warden will treat us soon with a hot tent video!

I actually have two new (maybe 3x) hot tents to test out and I have a stove video for a new stove dropping next week! Now that fall is here I am going to try to publish videos more consistently! We've been so busy this past year on the farm since we bought our property. Its hard to find time to edit videos, and I like to do a good job on each on, so it takes time. But fall is here now and I'll have more time on my hands!!!

I have a single burner i tested this on initially (only used it once so far) and had the handles away from the side and burned the crap out of them when I went to pull it off the burner. It looked like it was centered so I don't get why my handles were untouchable. I had to buy a little pot handle insulation sleeve so I can use this. One thing I don't like is that there's no way to seal in the liquid with the cap. When you turn the "opening" away from the notched pouring area, it doesn't stop liquid from coming out, just makes the opening smaller. I won't take it back because of this but I want to use on road trips and have dogs around me so I'll just have to be really careful it doesn't tip over or i somehow have it spill. I like it, just wish the handle had some sort of rubber coating and the lid was able to seal in the contents when rotated.

Have you had the a problem with coffee leaking from where the plunger meets the top of the pot ? It seems as I pour coffee leaks out of that area. I have to press down hard on the plunger and give it a twist to stop it from leaking. Other then that it's a really great press and makes great tasting coffee.

I have that and is great. Sometimes I like just simple cowboy coffee but when I’m in the mood for french press this is my go to including at home, no need to use different vessels, one step to make and that’s it, forgot to mention you can also make cowboy coffee and use this to keep the grains out of your cup. It really is versatile. Another great video, always looking forward to them. Thanks.

I'm going to try to start posting more regularly now. I actually already have another one scheduled for next week! Summer is a very busy time since we bought out house a couple of years ago and video editing takes a ton of time I just don't have in the summer. But Fall is here!

Yeah fall is here and I’m trying to make it to my other place in Baja, I don’t have internet there since is not my primary residence so I might miss some videos. I don’t want to be here this winter, last one was so bad we made the news. I’m too old for all the snow shoveling.

I purchased the STANLEY Coffee Press when it 1st came out ❤❤❤ it. My USMC Son asked to borrow it for his weekend wild camping. I NEVER SAW IT AGAIN😂. He fell in ❤ with it too! I bought myself another one, of course 👍. LATER, he asked to pack BOTH to take when he was deployed. AGAIN I bought myself another (3rd one) to FINALLY 😊 enjoy my trusted STANLEY Boil-N-Brew French Press for my own adventures 🎉❤STANLEY, ❤ Coffee ☕. BTW, it also fries up a mean 👍 1/half Fried Chicken Breast or Fish, if you haven't tried doing that yet, also for Homemade Home Fries 🍟. Because it's tall enough with 1/3rd oil and you're Good to Go since Stainless Steel doesn't retain leftover flavors for more Coffee ☕ again later.

Legit question: other reviews (and I think the instructions) put the coffee grounds in AFTER the water is heated. You put the coffee grounds in before it’s heated and heat the water with it. Is there any difference? Better taste? Genuinely curious as we’re about to go camping with this press for the first time.

how do you get the grounds out and clean up? We just had a test run on our home stove last night and I'm just thinking, if we are camping we'll need a lot of water/a lot of "scooping and scraping" labor to get the grounds out. With the collapsable silicone pourover we were using, plus kettle and paper filter, it's so easy to throw the paper filter out and all ground are contained. but with this am I going to be "scraping out" grounds then having to rinse multiple times? or am I doing this wrong?
