Thanks for all that info. I have been starting to expand usage around collaborative notes in teams and once thing I am struggling with is where you might have a recurring meeting, say weekly. You create Agenda for the first meting and assign actions /tasks following the meeting. When the next meeting comes around it would be great to see what actions/tasks from the previous occurrence remain open and talk to them but to do that you have to go and find that Loop entry in One Drive or similar and display that to screen in the current meeting to see what tasks have or have not been completed. Are there any tools/tricks that could assist with consolidating all open tasks from previous occurrences of the recurring meeting series?

I'd love to know that too! We have lots of recurring meetings and the workflow for this use case isn't ideal yet. This is currently limiting my team's full adoption.

Thanks alot for great demonstration Daniel!
I have the same question as @MrPotatoeHead002. Is it possible to use Loop for reoccuring meetings and will then tasks created at different occurances of the same meeting be collated into one list? Or will they stay in single meeting?
And what happens when we cancel a series of reoccuring meetings? Will previous notes and tasks dissapper? Or will they still be accesable somewhere?
Also can agenda be edited only by meeting organizer? Or can the participants contribute too?

Let me jump in here ... this works very fine. You can add an agenda to a meeting series and this will be used as starting point of each occurent. If you then adapt the agenda or extend it, add meeting minutes, this is stored in context of the specific occurrence of the meeting series.
A really useful feature for a lot of my use cases 👍

BONUS: Follow up Tasks in Microsoft Loop also flow through to the Microsoft To Do app and populate under the Assigned to Me tab making it easy for each person to keep track of their own assigned tasks without having to track down the initial meeting invite.

I can see one dealbreaker regarding this. A person sets up a meeting and gets the loop component in his onedrive. What if this person quit? The account gets deleted and the information will no longer be available to others i presume. Is this the case, and is there a plan for this? Or a workaround? The best would be if you choose a channel and the .loop-file was stored in sharepoint in that channel, but when choosing a channel, the loop option disappears.

Hey Daniel, it's been a great help and I see more and more people start using it in our organization! One thing people has been asking, the assignee got email remind daily, they think daily reminder is a bit too much, can we change the frequency somewhere? Thanks!

Thanks for the information. How can we move the loop documents to a shared SharePoint site? When the inviter of a meeting leaves the company, his/her OneDrive will be deleted.

I thought the same thing. When the organizer leaves that role or separates from the org, critical knowledge and records of key decisions could be lost.

Dumb question - where do the meeting notes live in the M365 eco-system - is it on the person who created the loops 'onedrive' for lack of a better word (in case they leave).

Many thanks. Do you know what happens notes in the context of a recurring meeting? When I join a new instance of a recurring meeting the notes from the previous meeting pop up. I am never sure what I am supposed to do with them. Overwrite them with the new notes I am about to write? Are the old notes from previous meetings then gone? Also, can I send the notes to someone who was not at the meeting? Perhaps a dept head who wants to see what was said but didn't need to attend? Thanks.

This has been very helpful-valuable. Question, how does the director of this group monitor and manage all the tasks that have been assigned for follow up. Can Planner be used somehow to create tasks boards?

  • @ellicel
    @ellicel Před rokem +3

Will the tasks assigned inside the loop component show up in the person's To Do? One of the biggest challenges we have is making sure people remember to follow up on tasks assigned to them during meetings. Though we capture these in the meeting minutes, people have to remember to look at the minutes or someone has to duplicate efforts to capture these tasks elsewhere in order to take advantage of reminders native to tools like Trello or Astana.

Hi Daniel, loving the potential of Loop in meetings. Is there anyway to insert a loop component from a previous meeting into a future meeting. Example we had a project kick off meeting and used Loop to track meeting actions and want to include these in future adhoc future meetings without creating a new loop (ie tracking meeting action progress across multiple meetings)

Does anybody know that if you assign a task to somebody will get a notification or email reminder about that assigned task? For those that might not know a meeting has been updated

Good video - do you have a good idea how to handle meeting notes when I am not the host of the meeting and therefore I cannot add an agenda for a meeting in teams and the host is not doing this.

I don’t have the need to collaborate with others, but I do want to use Loop as my personal knowledge management. I am having a hard time determining what should go to Loop and what goes in OneNote.
Using your videos, an example, should I be using Loop or OneNote for meeting notes?

    • @DanielAndersonAU

Very good question. It depends on what you need in terms of functionality. Handwriting for example you can do with Loop

@@DanielAndersonAU I think that OneNote needs to incorporate Loop, if it doesn't already. Also, it seems that Loop is for business accounts while OneNote is both business and personal. I'll stick with OneNote because my personal notes are in it.

Hopefully MS would eventually roll out the ability to place loop components in OneNote.
Then we can copy Meeting Note Loops into our personal OneNote.
