    first car in 10s was in 1984, 2.8ltr sako racing RX-7, 6 cylinder was Sawa engineering in 1985, fairlady Z 2750cc twin turbo. USA had dedicated drag stips but Japan was still racing on circuit straights. A few Japanese teams imported USA V8 monetsers but they still couldnt do the time here that they had done in USA due to conditions. in1987 the first 9sec pass was done by nissan sunny with L engine bored to 3096cc and twin turbo, it weighed 860kg. then HKS made their supra and ran 8.605 in 1990

    I have some JDM part on my Grand National. Mesh head rest early generation bride seat, and also a later brix I edition for seats. Takata 4 point long harness, and custom riken mesh I made myself 16x8 in front and riken mesh 16x9.5 in the rear. Thank you for your time and I really enjoyed watching this video, I let it play many times over and over.

      And I've actually seen them importing classic muscle cars like the Dodge Coronets and Plymouths and drag racing them over there.

    Cool! Thanks. The motor I am talking about is buicks turbo v6, it wasn't just dragged as many assume. That motor was supplying the indy series, Tran-Am, SCCA, and IHRA pro drag and many others. Those records are for japan only right? In 1986 Buddy Ingersoll took to the IHRA pro drag racing series, entered his v6 buick twin turbo, entered the 700+ cubic inch v8 unlimited class, and not only dominated all v8's but ran 7.33 @ 192 mph. Again 1986. I think this video was SUPER! I heart JDM

    8.6 in 1990 is actually pretty amazing given the displacement and the lack of being a drag racing scene.. What did the 2 tone grey R32 run? my fav. sounding car.. thanks for sharing.

    when was the first 6 piston turbo street car in the 10's or 9's in japan? I only asked because buick with a grand national has been in the 9's since the late 80's on a G-Body (really weak cheap). Thanks

    Lol here in the states we run sub 8s for the newbies. issue here is these idiots are using all turbos and not enough power from the actual engine. these guys should be using V8s and V10s of at least 6.0 L

      Brian Anshen, good luck sourcing these engines in Japan just for the "fun" factor. Cut them some slack, Drag racing has never been big in Asia.

    What the hell is this? are you just spraying water on the track for the burnout? It looks to me like your spending a lot of money on tires. There is so much rubber on that track. What a waste...

    • @0187Koffi
      @0187Koffi Před 8 lety +4

      +Jordan Staggs Its called drag racing, hence the title. Its normal maybe you should go read up, and this is far less of a waste than our computers, phones, tvs, first world problems.

    • @Tyschnei
      @Tyschnei Před 8 lety +4

      You have to heat the tires you fucking dumbass

    • @jordanstaggs373
      @jordanstaggs373 Před 8 lety +1

      HA! I must have been shit faced when I wrote that a year ago. I don't even understand what the hell I was talking about.. Let me go ahead and refresh that comment... Usually people use this shit called VHT Trackbite. They spray this down on the track before a burnout to increase traction.. The more rubber laid on the track after each burnout the more traction and better the track gets. Yea, I've actually stopped drinking all together. :)
