It should of been Salvie as boss, Leonetti under boss and Chuckie Merlino consigliere. Nickie was a paranoid little man who’s ego was bigger that his power. He killed everybody, even his own henchmen. Scarfo ruined Philly Cosa Nostra. He was in charge, but he couldn’t functionally run a family.
Ppl say this all the time but keep in mind how Scarfos two predecessors were both murdered- by their own men. I’m not saying Nick made the right choice, he didn’t. However given the circumstances, the nature of the Philly underworld at the time, and his position as boss- you can’t fault him for being paranoid about it.
As much as I liked Leonetti’s book, and sympathize with his dilemma growing up- that narrative of Nicky killing Testa just because is one, for the most part, falsely advertised by Phil. Probably because Phil himself feels guilty over Salvies death and resentful towards his uncle for the life he had in that world.
From Phil’s perspective it’s tough to see the forest from the trees since he was so close to Salvie and grew to hate Scarfo so deeply. But when you look at it objectively, given the facts and history of the family, things start to make sense.

I grew up in grade school with him and stayed friends throughout highschool, and will always consider him a friend til this day. The Lawyer's office that recorded Stanfa was in the City of Camden not Philly. Just letting you know know and Vessey was shot in the head 3 times the bullets went around his skull not through it just under the skin didn't even knock him out

Other than a bunch of mispronunciations on names and the misleading title (Joey didn't conquer anything - he briefly held a tenuous reign on a much, much diminished Philly mob), this was a good video. It does an excellent job with the chronology and key moments from Scarfo until the present. Ron Previty (Prev-ah-tee) was very instrumental in getting Stanfa, then Ralph Natale (Nah-tal-ee) and Merlino. He role as a snitch for the feds deserved a little more mention.
Joey is the real deal, I watched so many of these ex-mod "podcasts" mostly bragging about this and that, Joeys interviews are hilarious:

Interesting/informative/entertaining. Excellent still -motion photography pictures 📷. Enabling viewers to better understand what the orator is describing. Especially film footage from.the ( 1950's ). Back in that era " Omerta " was used. & mobsters in general kept a lower profile. Very few of the top bosses did any jail time. Until the (R.I.C.O.) Statutes began handing upper echelon syndicates bosses hefty jail time & fines. Disillusioned fools 😜 like Joie Marino flaunting his criminal activities. For law enforcement agencies to do surveillance of those criminal activities. Landed himself & associates into court. And then to a term of imprisonment. For the most part being a gangster has it's advantages & disadvantages.😉 one fact for certain. Not a life style for the faint of hearted -!!! 😲.
