Car Door Sound Deadening - Before and After Cheap Insulation - Renault MEGANE MK3 GT Line

- The car door rattle is one of the things we always wanted to fix and improve. Noise from a slammed door is one of the most annoying things, but luckily it can be fixed. Car door insulation and soundproofing can be done in different ways, depending on the car model and the stuff you have for soundproofing.
Usually, the rattle will come from loose parts which will vibrate and not enough factory insulation which allows a lot of overtones when the door closes.
Most foam tapes and soft items will help with overtones and will provide soundproofing.
We used self-adhesive foam tape which is usually used for ventilation insulation, but it worked quite well for car door insulation. Additionally, we used 3M rubber for the edge of the door which provides some cushioning when the door closes, so it does not slam as hard.

That door rubber seal did the most. I did that on my stock Renault and it improved it. To further improve the sound deadening you need to add mass, stiffening the door panels: alu-butyl mats. That closed cell foam absorbs sound but doesn't prevent it. Meaning that the panels will still vibrate and create sound but the echo inside the door will be reduced.

Cover inside of the door (under the cable ) with this material. It's worth the effort and the money , believe me I have Grand Scenic 3 and I did , all 4 door and tailgate (especially behind the registration number)
I believe it's worth it! Other then that, Grand Scenic 3 is a fine car.

The side panel on the front left door on mine wobbles a lot each time I am closing it. Right in the center of the door. It sounds so weird, I feel embarrassed to close it even with average force when people around. ^_^
I don't trust anyone to try and fix it but it's good to know there is a way.

I am just upgrading the speakers in my Megane 3 estate Limited. The speakers are so cheap as you can see on this video. I have installed alu-butyl sheets on the door panel and the foam on the rear of the door card, I will also add quick rings on the speakers. With an under seat sub, I'm expecting dramatic results.....
All i would say is, whoever wants to remove the outer door trim will not know they are screwed as you dont have to get the door card off to remove them.

Do you know if the Laguna 3 door card has similar screw positions? I'm planing on upgrading the speakers and add foam to the door card in the near future.

My problem with the Megane 3 is that black pads from behind the handle which are attached to the door, they are vibrating and making very unpleasant noises.
Do you have any idea how to fix them?

@@adnanpasic508 hello brother, i solved the problem with some fabric tape, taping that black pad and now it's quite. I can't post a picture to show you. Also you I heard some guys sticking somn double sided tape. Hope you can solve it too.

For the seals between the front and back doors there are original parts for the Mégane III, similar to the Laguna's: 828350003R (left) and 828340003R (right). Not very expensive.

Pozdrav, je li to motor 1.5 dci 110 ks u meganeu? Kako vam se pokazao, koliko ima km, kvarovi? Planiram kupiti 2014 god sa 120 000 km, jedino sto me malo brine su dizne koje su jako skupe..
@Paul Green Da, motor je 1,5 dci. Megane je bratov i ima oko 130000 km i do sada nije ima problema s njim. Imam lagunu s istim motorom koja je prešla 240000 km i isto nisam imao probleme s motorom. Naravno uz redovne izmjene ulja i normalnu vožnju. Sretno s kupovinom?

Hi. We are not sure because we did not explore such possibilities for now. What we do know is the possibility of replacing direction indicator lights on the rear view mirror caps for dynamic moving ones. That is something we will do and make a video about it soon. Thanks for watching.

I wouldn't say quite like a luxury/premium car, but it's far better than before. We don't have that metal ringing now.

Ona sama neće najvjerojatnije postići gotovo nikakav efekt. Od temperature se može otopiti možda ljepilo i da traka otpadne. Ali svakako mislim da ne bi imalo učinka da se lijepi direktno na lim.
