after further digging it turns out this channel colorized the original video which means that the colors are not real, colorization was made only for the ambiance and do not represent real historical data. Which is fine, I thought it was a nice touch and that they did a good job. Great video and song regardless!

Actually Jimmy Page had a lot of experience under his belt by the time Led Zeppelin was formed. He had been a studio musician and had also been in the Yardbirds. Zeppelin was pretty new when this came out. I saw them live the next year in 1970 here in Canada.
    Awesome concert!

Led Zeppelin hated doing these promos which is why they eventually stopped doing them. The lack of reaction they got from these small audiences was one of the reasons.

Pagey is / was a likeable guy when I met him in either late 1966 or early 1967. I am a 73 year young rocker today. It was him and Jeff Beck with dueling guitars in The Yardbirds. They came to my little town of 25,000 in LaPorte ,Indiana and played at the National Guard Armory gym. There were about 125 of us teens there and it only cost about $1.25 to get stamped on the wrist and get in. When Jeff Beck got pissed off at his amp and rammed his guitar at it and walked off, the band took a break. That was when I and a couple friends went outside and had a smoke. ( A pack of cigs from a machine at Burger Chef was 35 cents. )We lit up and out came Jimmy. He came right up to me (probably because my hair was the longest there ,heh) and asked me for a "stick" (cigarette) and said he preferred my Kool menthols. I gave him one and lit it and he was a regular ,likeable dude that fit right in with our chatter. He said to call him ,Pagey, and we talked about his road playing gigs and then the drummer came out and told Pagey it was time to play again. At the time he was just another well known band player ,like I would be locally the following years ,and he was like one of us guys. Too bad i didn't have a camera and get an autograph . Pics and autograph would have been a treasure today. Now you know the rest of the story...... : ) I saw Zeppelin live at Long Beach Arena, Calif. back in 1975 Tour. An amazing 3 1/2 hour Zeppathon Live and tickets were only $7.50 to $8.50 ! Dug it with my future wife and brother ,Kevin, who came out to Calif. to be with us from Indiana. R.I.P. Kevin. Peace!

These guys were still only about 19 yrs. old when they did this gig. Also, they refined the version of "Communication Breakdown" on the record, from this somewhat thrown together, Jam version. They had no idea at this point how Big they were about to become, in the next 6 months or so. They were all probably still living in a crappy old Van or Bus of some sort when they did this.

Plant was 20 in March of 1969 as was Bonzo. Jimmy was 25
Jimmy and JPJ had been successful session players for several years and Jimmy had been in the Yardbirds. He was considered a success already….making a good living in music and had a pretty rad bachelor pad on The Thames. They were not a band of young poverty stricken boys. Two were and two weren’t

    • @JC-vj4ln
      @JC-vj4ln Před rokem +4

Right. Yet they were too precocious for their age and so successful.
That's why many bands hated them jealously and out of envy, and Rolling Stone Magazine did not give them the recognition they deserved for years because they didnt liked their success so early.

Love your T, and that Danmarks footage! Thanks for the reaction. I think this is the second of four songs from it that you've reacted to and would enjoy it if you reacted to the other two songs as well (Dazed and Confused and How Many More Times).
Would also enjoy it if you were to react to the rest of the songs they performed during their 1970 Royal Albert Hall concert. Great concert! In fact, a "concert reaction" would be awesome. Edit: They performed a few songs during it that aren't on any of their eight albums - I think you'd really enjoy them.
I could be mistaken but I believe that footage of the Bath Blues Festival has no audio. Might want to double check that.

Thank you. There are very few reactions of this whole show. I guess the fact the videos get blocked is the main reason, but it's just too good not to be enjoyed with others. I hope you can do Dazed and Confused from it too. Bonham's drumming in it is incredible.

About the Bath festival : You will probably have to make pauses here and there to avoid copyright issue, and maybe add a filter over the video. Here's a link of someone who sync the audio of a bootleg from the festival with the 16mm footage : czcams.com/video/o7o2Kl69kS4/video.html
The audio quality is very bad, and no good audio has been release yet, but it's worth watching anyways. For the story : This 16mm footage was the holy grail for led zep fan, and there was rumor that it existed for the last 50 years, but no confirmations, until last week when this came out of nowhere. So this is a BIG DEAL.
FYI, the footages are very cut, there no full performance of any song, but it's still fine. They played for the first time ever the immigrant song at this concert.

Those Bath clips seem to be available with sound without moving images or images without sound. If you've found one with both that's gold but it may be that sound and vision versions are only available by purchasing.

There’s a much better live version from this time where Robert Plant hits all of the high notes. It’s the Communication Breakdown ‘promo’ from the same year in France. It also includes a shortened version of Dazed and Confused that’s pure adrenaline.
In general, Plant seems a little under the weather during this Denmark TV show-throughout the whole show he wasn’t nailing the high notes like he normally did in other shows in ‘69.

I watched some backstage scenes from that show in Bath, England. Funny that Jimmy is wearing a heavy woolen coat and a hat; never saw him dress like that before onstage. Anyway, would be cool if you could do a reaction to the show.

It's funny to see it colorized, but the colors are not good, sorry! 😂Because, the legendary telecaster, Jimmy was using the first year of LED ZEP, was called the dragon telecaster, because it was a dragon on it! And, the colors were natural wood, red, and green, for the dragon! Here, it's only brown..... Peace guys! ✌️👍🎸🇫🇷😂
