This woman really amazes me with her emotional intelligence, clever answers and just with everything. This is how you join the band
I know its 2018 now but oh man ikr! If you pay attention closely, you can see that she's obviously moving to Finland, but avoids telling him with the clever answers. Not to mention, why else would she be learning the language? I'm also on acid, so maybe I'm just trippin. But yeah lol.

she is dutch from a perfect generation.
She handles the media so nicely and so professionally, always giving diplomatic yet insightful answers to tricky questions. She is showing that she will be a great representative for Nightwish. This woman is oozing so much charm and intelligence :)
Well..
Watching this, remembering Anette Olzon's interviews about her feeling bad because they were all Finnish and nobody spoke English. I really admire Floor trying to learn some Finnish in order not to stay out of the picture. Anette spoke about Nightwish as a "job", and I can see here that Floor is actually giving her best to fit in the position. She seems a wonderful and reponsible person :) + her singing is great
My respect for Floor in trying to learn Finnish. I've been a fan of hers since After Forever. I'm amazed that she's trying to learn the language. She knows it would help to solidify her connection with the band. That shows a lot of commitment. I really love Floor and I hope she is able to stay around for many years to come! :D What I love about her is that she put her personal stamp on Nightwish's songs without trying to emulate anyone else.

I am really happy to see THAT smile on her face everytime she speaks about Nightwish. Floor has been through a lot of stuff in her life, she is a true metalhead and she totally deserves to be on the top. Go Floor! :D
It’s like Nightwish and Floor were searching for each other but didn’t know it until they found each other. Now they are the perfect match and I hope they continue for many years. Truly awesome combination of artists.
You can tell she's not just a vocalist, but a whole musician by the way she talks of music and shows, and you can tell how deep into it she is. She's a blessing for Nightwish, finally they're back with new and well deserved glory days.
Not only a great singer but also a very nice and friendly person. The best choice Nightwish could have made for a new front lady.
I can't even stress enough how honoured I am to hear that Floor actually takes time to study our impossible language, although she doesn't even need to.
Oh yes. I've learned estonian, and that was already difficult. Most languages are a walk in the park compared to that.
I think Finnish is one of the best sounding languages, I'd still be a Nightwish fan even if all their songs were in Finnish
I'm German and studied Finnish for five years at university. It's a hard language especially for Indo-European language speakers like us Germans and the Dutch. But for Estonians, Hungarians, Turks, Japanese, Arabs and many more it's quite easy, because Finnish has an agglutinative structure like all these languages, whereas Indo-European languages are mostly flective-fusionating.

The more I see and hear Floor, the more I realize it's a gift from heaven. Not only the way she sings ( that is off the record) but the way she's sooo clever, so gentle, so humble and she's so willing to make it professional but full of passion and devotion at the same time. I think Nightwish is as good to Floor as she's for the band. The best line-up, the band is at it's highest right now, I really want the next album out!
And this Ladies and Gentleman is a REAL Profesional and talented singer

This woman is just perfect. Not only a superb singer but an incredible person and professional!
She wants to learn the Finnish language ; that shows how involved she wants to be within the band and she really is a great singer.
So with great humility comes great power....what a gift to music this angel is.

At this case I really, really hope so.
I love her voice and her attitude. This is a woman that can rise to any occasion put before her. I understand her burnout as well. I played 180 shows a year for seven years and it absolutely turned me against playing guitar for years after I stopped playing.
Floor is a goddess. She's an amazing singer and she's absolutely beautiful. Le sigh.

She's so handsome, just as beautiful as her voice. Those long & strong legs, that tall stature yet those smooth moves, that alpha female stage aura, that long black hair, that voice that goes in all directions with such quality, those AWESOME interpretations of old material. It's everything about her that's amazing. Just looking at her in this interview I get a warm feeling in my face, my pupils enlarge and I start to stare at her telling eyes ;)
I feel the same thing, dude. She is living proof that perfection actually exists upon this Earth.

I like her. She is just so suited for Nightwish, Her looks, her attitude and most importantly her voice.

And she's a very smart and intelligent woman that doesn't pull that Diva and arrogant style of attitude about having say so of what is done and how it's done. I'm the drummer in my band and sing a few of our songs cuz our setlists half covers and usually half hours. That said she's smart in the regard that it's a lesson that coke didn't learn when they changed their formula, when it was already the best. Simple philosophy, if it ain't broke , don't fix it. So that aspect of this interview she is a smart woman... A most engelic beautiful woman, with her little Xena Princess Warrior outfit at wacken 2013 oh, and the most perfect set and show I've ever seen that I didn't want to take my eyes off of her but that little black leather Cape she had was awesome. But flawless... Unlike any other. Stage presence Beauty and Perfect Pitch every song and live in front of 90,000 people and she wasn't even a permanent member yet. Remember Olsen screwed the whole machine up oh, and thanks by the way for that, or we never would have gotten the lovely floor Jansen with a far superior vocal style and sound then either of their other two singers. Taja and Annette, both of them... One-dimensional and mediocre-at-best. Tarja... Strictly an opera sounding vocal Style only! Annette well, I picture a pop singer if I had not seen her. Like Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera top 40 shit. but floor is a whole nother animal. she could go low she could go high she can grout she has the rasp and can belt it out with the best of them with Pat Benatar or Ann Wilson of heart with the heavy Rock sound and rasp, or power clarity and Grace of Celine Dion and vibrato Style, or she could pull off classical and... Even though she said that she doesn't really like the style, not only could do it but improve tharja's old style Opera because it's to throaty & and falsetta sounding... Hence, one-dimensional, and only because those songs were written around tarja. long story short though it's like a totally new band super improved and with floor is lights listening to them for the first time, the new and improved Nightwish! And that my friends, is why without a festival backing, still sell out 30,000 seat arenas... For 2 night engagements, and without supporting bands if they wanted, because of floor Jansen.
"we were playing very well" at Wacken Open Air..... That's one hell of an understatement Floor. That performance was legendary,, and will never be forgotten.
Floor, you are wonderful! I like this girl more and more with every interview, she is so dedicated and talented.

English is a ridiculous and needlessly complex language as well, and she has mastered it. I swear she speaks it better than I do as a native speaker. I suspect she’ll pick up the Finnish language with little struggle. She’s great.
I think NW hit the jackpot by hiring her, i also think floor couldn't have find a better band to perform in. The Fun is just beaming of the stage and those feelings are transformed to the public making the band as a whole better as well.
She seems so amazing and so down to earth. I can't wait to see her live.
I'm glad she told us more about Anette as with the guys it's hard to know the full story. I'm so disappointed that Anette did that to the guys, there is no shame in getting pregnant but when it puts people's careers and the fans tour date tickets on hold that is disrespectful.
Lets hope the new album is good and that she doesn't let them down.

It's not a difficult language. She is right, to learn a language you need to live with community that uses the language. When you do, any language can be adobted, with not much difference. If it is a very close relative language like Dutch and English, that does make it easier, but "a difficult language" is just a different language. Hope she did well and it is useful to her.
I think this interview showed me how nice and funny Floor actually is. I've never payed much attention to her persona, only her singing, which is good in my opinion. But now I'm very interested in seeing how she'll do with NW (and I love the fact that she's learning finnish! I want to learn in, too :3)
I want to read the lyrics of for example Kuolelma Tekee Taiteilijan (I think I´ll learn to spell it soon) without using Google Translate, and of course, They speak it in Nightwish.

... being a bit of a dutchy myself and a yank i virtually ALWAYS pick out a dutch accent from ALL who speak dutch as their first native lingo... her's is VERY slight, quite rare english mistakes... i'm guessing this is a function of being a vocalist and singing - mastery of your own language and others... if she stays away from euro words and such she could fit in as american, fooling us all ;)... she said base twice, instead of basis... that was cute ;)

I'm one of them in my blood, but was born in sweden and my 2 language father dude never taught me finnish, He could speak swedish and finnish. I curse him to this day.

Baby, no one's taking it that you're being arrogant when you say you were playing good as a band. That is something you will never have to worry about, because it's just simple facts... Nightwish and the guys, struck the mother lode by obtaining the most gorgeous Dutch goddess that you can get. If you don't sing for Nightwish they're done. Because, simple fact is anyone else other than you is downhill and can only go worse after floor Jansen. Because you can't get any higher on the scale for Showmanship, Beauty, for vocals, range, excetera excetera. Floor Jansen oh, there is... No substitute! And to tell you the truth, best musicians you could ask for. Songwriting, tuomas... A genius. But not for what you might think, song writing in the music no no no no... For obtaining floor Jansen. And ever since floor, that's why I listen to Nightwish. I did not like them with a monotone falsetto style Opera, or the other end of the spectrum like Minnie Mouse with Annette Olsen sounding like more of a pop singer like Britney Spears Christina Aguilera type. But floor Jansen, she is literally arrange list goddess with Platinum vocal cords, she's rangeless, mean she can go from one end of the spectrum to the other flawlessly. Sure, tarja and Annette are great singers... Just not in Nightwish. Floor Jansen there's not a genre she can't master nor any that she already doesn't. Floor Jansen slotted in perfect 4 Nightwish anyone other as their singer... Simply will not do sir! That's a motherfuking facto
