She's not only a great singer, but she's smart as well.
Not only is she my vocal idol, but as someone with severe Panic and Anxiety Disorder and Depression (all involved in Burn-out), she is such an inspiration all around! How, even newly being able to cope, she went for it!!!! Many have NO clue how hard it is! And to sing for the world's biggest female-fronted symphonic metal bands with obsessive fans! Talk about bravery!!!This woman is so amazing. Having some Dutch ancestry and being a 6'1 amazon girl with a passion for singing and music, I sometimes wonder if we are distant relatives

I just love when she talks so openly about her burnout. It's really inspiring
I love that she mentioned she loves Ghost Love Score and she feels most comfortable with it because I just commented on their Waken Open Air video that I was in love with her version of it. You can tell she loves it. Her voice SOARS and the look on her face is absolutely euphoric. I hope she stays with Nightwish for many many more years!
And that video of Ghost Love Score at Wacken actually was my first encounter with Nightwish.
I spent hours listening to all their other stuff for the next couple of days and what can I say - I'm blown away!

Funny how she mentions transmitting feelings through her singing.
I've never actually seen her perform in person (something I plan on changing, given the opportunity), but just watching the live version of "Ghost Love Score" from Wacken, whether it's via the CZcams video or from watching my blu-ray copy of the DVD, that emotion was definitely shining through, just in those formats.
I'm almost afraid that hearing her sing live would be a bit of emotional overload, but that's a chance I'm willing to take.
Bottom line, Floor Jansen is pretty much my new favorite among the Queens of Metal.
Smart, strong, pretty, ultra-talented, classy, professional and humble. I have seen her in Nightwish twice and met her once. She is a Goddess.

I just LOVE when interviews are so good. Clever and interesting questions that reveal new detalis. You can definitely tell that someone with true knowledge about NW and Floor's history came up with them.

I love how she mentions that Ghost Love Score means a lot to her. I saw her performance at Wacken 2013 and I cried. That was the song of NW that I heard first and also the first symphonic metal song. I knew nothing about the genre or the band or Floor but the beauty of it all is something I felt clearly and wept.
Hah, funny that she speaks otherwise with English sounds, but when she says "Tarja" she uses the Dutch "R".
Love to Floor from Finland, you have increased the range of sounds in Nightwish songs, and every song you have done are simply mind blowing. Congratulations Nightwish, what you can accomplish with her, sky is the limit!

Why wouldn't she? This competition only exists in the heads of the fanatics. The artists themselves only have the utmost respect and admiration for each other. And espescially so in the metal scene, where, as women, they are a minority in a male dominated genre.

I so love this woman. Hearing her sing, watching her move. Floor has got it going on. This American guy could sure be happy with a beautiful Dutch lady like that.
Thank God for bands like Nightwish, because most of the rock and metal in the U.S. just sucks. The most interesting music is coming out of Europe. So many great progressive + symphonic metal bands. Thank God for the internet.
The USA has produced great metal bands, Van Halen etc etc..however, the focus is on sales not art, the negative result of capatilism, a band like Pantera, were commercially successful, but scared the shit out of the USA, they were awesome and socially relevant, Europe, embraces art and general culture devoid of commercial success, so in Britain for example, Joy Division are celebrated artistically more than the Bee Gees (a wonderful pop band by the way) because they were better and far more expressive, the fact they didn't 'sell' as much is irrelevant..maybe I'm wrong?
andy owen I don't think it's 'capitalism' perse that dictates this. After all, if a band is outright unsuccessful anywhere, they'll go under. Joy Division was an incredibly influential band, and were commercially viable without being megastars. But in the US, there is a lot more 'top down' dictate from the A&R departments of the labels. This is true in publishing and movies as well.That's part of the reason why when the internet exploded as a venue for sharing and exposing to new music, the album companies here were rocked. In Europe, even before the internet, there was room for regional and national success that allowed commercial viability even if they didn't become 'international.'

I haven't watched this video in well over a year, but it still gave me goosebumps(and I almost cried again)when at the last she talked about how Nightwish helped her come out of that depression with all their people gathering around her to show their love for her.
Floor Jansen is a very special person which is why she has an Army beside her who they all love her.
She is definitely the best vocalist Nightwish has had since Tarja. I love her voice, her attitude, and how professional she is about everything. :)

Well, GLS is pretty much everyone's favorite. Anette's favorite, Tuomas' favorite, I think it was Tarja's favorite, 90% fans' favorite... and now her favorite as well. So no surprise there, it's kinda the default pick. :) And I sure don't blame them, because it's a damn awesome track.

@@loonatic1011 Very very true. I'm Canadian but lived in the Netherlands for 6 years when I was a kid. I was very impressed with how well they speak English. Same for the Scandinavians, like you said.
@@krismate2895 That is what happens, when not many people speak your native language. You'll have to watch movies in English to learn it. If you are interested in politics for example you won't find much in your native language either. I'm in the Netherlands every once in a while and often have a chat in German with locals, which is great too.
(German and Dutch are quite similar. Written or slowly spoken Dutch is somewhat understandable to a German native speaker. I don't know if works as good vice versa.)
I find that those who's first language isn't English often speak English better than English people, like me, speak other languages, I can't speak a word of other languages and I had a Polish grandmother! Never heard her speak her first language, wish I had.

In a recent interview, Nightwish are taking all of 2017 off and she said she'll be back with them in 2018 with something special. Most likely, that means a new Nightwish album.
I do not think Floor is ever replaced. It was Tuomas which to Floor asked if she ever thought of having a child, when she said yes, he told her, then this is your chance because we want to take quite a year. They are happy with Floor. When Tarja was fired Tuomas has also thought about Floor but she was the frontlady of after forever and he did not ask her because he did not want to steal the singer of another band.
Yes, what an amazing woman. Her willingness to learn Finnish says it all. I really hope that their group dynamics continue to be as flourishing as they seem to be.

She obviously loves Ghost love Score. Because I think she performs it in a very special way. It's not a matter of her voice, it's a matter of feelings. What a beatiful woman and the way she speaks, so calm, so respectfull. Tha's a realy talented singer and performer who don't need any strange appearance, ridiculous clothes or strange attitudes. She just sings and seems to be a low profile, humble person.

I have warmed to floor very quickly, I loved Tarja voice, I have enjoyed olsens voice too and now floor... Its all good.
Each singer has brough in something wonderful to the band and the band as a whole are just so bloody impressive as hell.
