  • Whether you are bringing cigars with you on holiday or bringing back cigars home that you purchased it is important to understand how to travel with cigars as they are extremely sensitive and delicate items. The wrappers get damaged easily and the lack of humidity is the cigar's worst enemy. In this video I am explaining how to travel with cigars.
    As usual if you have any question don't hesitate.

    I am a new subscriber thanks to CZcams. I live in N.S., Canada having thee most Draconian smoking laws outside of a total ban. That plus our harsh winters makes for me a short smoking season. I have been enjoying cigars for 40 years plus. This video is a basic course for a new smoker. Now to watch your others. Cheers

    Australia - forget about bringing anything - maybe 2 sticks. Using the bags to group loose sticks together is an excellent idea. Your content is well worth the subscription- thanks as always.

      I brought about 30 Cubans when I traveled to Australia last year haha. I feel like coming in, isn’t an issue. Leaving would be?

    I always enjoy your content Laurent.
    You can bring 25 cigars into Mexico and you can bring up to 100 into the US(non Cuban of course :-) for the US).
    I'd also recommend avoiding the travel case with foam liners/holders. They tend to degrade quickly.

    I just reuse the bags my dealer uses to ship the cigars. They come with litlle Boveda packs inside and are perfect for travelling. Works like a charm if you pack the bags tightly between your clothes.

    Thank you, Laurent. One subject with traveling I have always had is how do you travel with cigar lighters and more importantly fuel for the lighters. I am always miffed by the strict laws with butane. How do you solve this? As you know, it takes constant fuel when you are enjoying many cigars in a trip. Thank you.

    • @habanonews
      @habanonews  Před 3 měsíci +2

      You are totally right and you just gave me an idea for another video.! As an aviation professional I can tell you that Gas is banned inside the aircraft. Some airlines ban lighters / torches inside the haul as well. So what I do is: I empty the lighter and put them in my toiletry bag. And when I land I buy a gas bottle….

    • @johnathandax6132
      @johnathandax6132 Před 3 měsíci

      @@habanonews Yes, I see. I find it difficult to actually find a place when traveling that would sell a premium butane for a good lighter. Have you had any trouble with this? Like say Cuba. Are there many places that sell premium butane?

    • @habanonews
      @habanonews  Před 2 měsíci

      No idea. I am not a gas specialist. Usually I don't have much problem.

    Hi Laurent, is it possible to revive the bags you receive from cigar shops? I have a bunch but not sure if the humidification is optimal since purchasing. Love your content!

    Excellent episode. I was actually looking for big ziploc bags to buy. When you wrap the box with cling film, do you put a boveda inside as well? Thank you.

    • @Petrossmokesstogies
      @Petrossmokesstogies Před 3 měsíci

      You can, i usually buy the smallest boveda and place it inside the box.

    • @habanonews
      @habanonews  Před 3 měsíci

      Yes I do!. I try not to put the Bobeda in direct contact with cigars not to overhumidify the wrappers. Some people do. It is an issue if you leave it for a long period. For just a few hours or a couple of days it is not an issue

    • @IamGio69
      @IamGio69 Před 3 měsíci

      @@habanonews thank you, Laurent. I would now have to check my tupperdor’s as well as the boveda’s might be in direct contact with my cigars.

    Any air tight systema or Tupperware plastic container with a boveda bag will do the job. And I’m not payed by them 😂
