    Best tutorial I found. I had no idea you had to run the water in the house. Thank you so much!

    Used this video last two times I changed my filter, it’s the best one. I watched a few others from plumbers but they’re just not as clear as this one cuz they take everything for granted they are doing these all the time.

    Thanks for your very helpful and clear video. One thought that occurred to me, instead of using bleach, why not use white vinegar. Fewer harsh chemicals.

    Don't use silicone caulk for these rubber seals. There is a silicone grease as per the manufacturer brand.

    How do you know what size & type of filter(s) to get? I just recently moved into this house and they have a phone number for a company that no longer exists. Also, I have 3 filters but theyre down stream in my basement, as in theyre under my kitchen sink, not next to the well intake. Near the well I have a big one that resembles a large 02 tank. So I'm a bit confused because of that. I've seen the packs of 3 filters which filter different things but I don't understand why theyre not near the water intake. Any idea based off of this bit of info?
    Either way thanks for the video. Once I end up figuring out what I need, I think I'll be confident enough to change them out myself.

    9:06 The newly inserted white cartridge can be seen wobbling left and right, and easily touching the rim of the blue housing. On my system, this happens even if the white cartridge has properly snapped into the bottom of the blue housing. When the blue part is eventually screwed in into the black "lid", how do you ensure that the white cartridge is centered and standing vertically up inside the blue part? If it is not, does this cause issues? Like, how will the water flow correctly into the filter cartridge, if the cartridge is sitting inside the blue part at an angle or even touching the blue rim? Once the blue part is screwed into the top black part, there is no way to visually check for this. I replaced my cartridge by following these and other similar instructions, but unsure about what to do about this "wobbling" of the white cartridge. It doesn't seem possible to fix it in a vertical position. Do people just ignore this issue? [Very nice video, by the way, thank you.]

    • @stephenzies8867
      @stephenzies8867 Před 7 měsíci +1

      If the cartridge is centered the housing will tighten all the way.lf it is not centered then the housing will not tighten all the way and not make contact with the Oring and will leak. If when done and there are no leaks then it is good.

    I think my filters need to be replaced. How do I know what size filter I need? Also, do I just turn the water back on afterwards? No steps after? I really don't want to mess it up, but need it done and done cheaply 😅

    • @TheAmateursAmateur
      @TheAmateursAmateur  Před rokem +1

      When I first attempted it, I took the filter container (Blue thing in the thumbnail) to Home Depot with me, then asked one of the staff to help me find the right size.
      As far as turning on the water goes; that's it. Turn on the hot and cold water all of your facets (shower and all), and let it run for about a minute to clear out all of the nasty shit in the pipes. I hope this helps. Thank you for viewing!

      @The Amateur's Amateur-If I Can Do It You Can Do it so it won't hurt it to be taken apart for a while to go to home depot? I know once our power went out and we had to reprime the system or something. I was worried about thay

      @@briscamordella5782 I don't know anything about re-priming, so I can't help you there. However, you should be good to take it to the Depot.

    Why the silcone?

    • @TheAmateursAmateur
      @TheAmateursAmateur  Před rokem +2

      To ensure a nice water proof sealant along the rubber gasket. I just changed the filter a month ago, and I didn't have any more silicone; therefore I didn't use any. I have had any issues, but that's how I was taught, so I am passing that down to you my friend. All in all, I hope this video helped you. Thank you for viewing!
