Eng, Hani, You are doing great things especially these interviews. Planning engineer/Manager scope and designation in India is entirely different from Middle east. You can see Planning Managers in India with just 1year planning experience where in middle east it's difficult even if you have more than 15years experience especially in big companies . So you have to consider this while doing the interviews in India, other wise it will be misleading. A planning engineer in my team recently joined as Planning Manager, that is Senior Manager in India 🤔. It's depends on the countries and the usage of Primavera.

For 10% if you keep changing baseline, it may not be right approach. But if you mitigate the variance then that it recovery schedule, which is still on the boundry of baseline, except the schedule progress changes from that cutoff is different from baseline progress.

Hi there dears Eng! very good interview, but i guess the project control in excel so many cods, and it can be more easy to control and to export to an project planning software, other wise, the major level of detail for project control is better in excel. Thanks

It is unfair to underestimate the software tools which are being used for planning ,it is hard to acquire skill in software tools and need lot of efforts and time. all major industries like airports, railways, banks .etc..systematically Manages their operations by using some kind of software tools only.otherwise it is impossible .
Planning is not just preparing schedules and reports using primavera or any other tool . But project planning in EPC environment is impossible without using so said planning tools like primavera or ms project etc..How a project can be tracked without knowing the critical path atleast. A well prepared cost loaded / resource loaded P6 schedule is a valuable asset which eliminates many headaches.Only such a schedule is enough for preparing daily, weekly, monthly reports including other project summary reports quickly. Moreover presenting details by using graphs, charts or diagrams are much more effective than using boring spread sheets or tables in many occasions. It has been seen
Many mangers whore are arised from construction field specifically show their less interest in project schedules or planning softwares for the reason their are not comfortable with it or they they don't have much control on it.
