This makes me so happy. Sometimes I don´t understand why I choose studying biotechnology, why I have to be in this country, eith all these people that I´m a tired of, but this kind of advances give me hope about keeping on it, so if I can ever get to help someone like this man, I'm going to feel all was worth it.

This is confusing. They say medication not DBS surgery. Is that the case? If so, the results are remarkable for medicine. I know DBS is very effective but has its risks.

You can adjust the amount of therapy provided by the DBS implants. I'm assuming they mean they adjusted his therapy to the ideal amount for him.
Dbs is for you can have a reduced dose of the meds

No. DBS ruined my fathers life made him bed ridden. He lost his speech, walking ability after DBS

Que lindo sería que esto existiera acá en Argentina, es una pena, ya que con el precio de costo es suficiente como para ni siquiera formar parte de fuente informativa. DBS is not the holy grail to fix all Parkinson’s problems. Bilateral DBS can cause major swallowing, speech, anger issues. Unilateral is lot better if your symptoms are isolated on one side. Highly recommend you read several books about DBS prior to surgery. Guide to DBS by Sierra Farris is a good one. Also, consider rechargeable device to avoid infections during battery replacement surgeries that almost always require complete removal of hardware and redo of entire surgery.
