      Yes, that was unfortunate. I noticed it, and my wireless microphone was getting audio interference from someone else’s microphone or phone. But once the interview started, there was nothing that could be done.

    It's so funny to me that people don't realise what Jonas did was the SMARTEST thing to do. This stages does not suit a small climber like him at all, meanwhile it suited both Pogacar and Remco very well. Remco expecting Vingegaard to pull for him is honestly so funny. Jonas is smart, he knew they ofc would try to attack him again while his team is far away.

      I don’t think people are saying it’s not smart of Jonas but just unexciting and honestly a little boring…
      Of course it’s always better to wait for your team, not do any work you don’t have to and only take the chances with the beste chance of success but that’s also the coldest and most lame way to race 🤷🏼‍♂️

      @@AlexLPs99 I understand what you are saying. But if (as Remco said) the podium could’ve been decided today, isn’t it more exciting that Jonas didn’t go with them? Then it would be a very boring next weeks. Jonas isn’t riding for the podium, but for the win. He did what he had to do. I do agree, it could’ve been exciting if Jonas went with them, but you can’t call him boring for not to, when it was the completely wrong move for him.

    I think today Vingegaard had a precious help by super Visma team mates..but I also think that team will not be as strong on mountains as it was today on gravel

    Jonas is playing ot smart. He said Pogi is stronger because he wants him to keep attacking. To spend more watts in front wind. Honestly my fav rider today was Roglič. He spend nothing extera and saved most legs. Also love Tratnik accent, he is even better in Slovenian. Naša Idrijska lokomotiva 💪

      I like Rog but he’s not on Pog or Jonas level anymore. He will lose minutes in the high mountains.

      actually Roglic had to close himself the gap after the split he had in the second sector (or something similar). His teammates were there initially, but then he sprinted to close a 10-15sec gap.

      I hope they can ride together on the same team soon, they both have great humor, work ethic and smarts. I agree 100% that Rogla is riding very calculating and I hope that is a sign he will be in the game till the end.

    Everyone keeps saying “wait for the high mountains.” For Vingegaard. However I think people forget that he doesn’t have the team to wear pog out before the last big climb so I don’t see how he is gonna take time in the mountains when UAE will just be controlling the entire time

      I don’t think UAE can control the absolut King stages. It will be only the favorites left.
      But 100% it’s a tougher task than last year. Pog is the same, no injury but Giro, and Vingegaard has to be weaker than last year + weaker team.
      Still on the hard stages with mountain top finishes it’ll be 1v1 in the end. The stages with a descent though, there UAE can play Vingegaard like they did a few days ago.

    Such a great team (Visa Lease a Bike)!
    It would have been even better with Sepp Kuss.
    Nevertheless, they’ve done a wonderful job so far.

    a humbled, honest, appreciative, grateful and such an intelligent person.

    I admire Pogi, Jonas, and Remco. Each one is a different personality type, but it’s easy to like all three.
    I am trying to understand Roglic better, but I don’t like him as well. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Jonas had zero reason to pull in this situation/terrain. This was your chance Remco - don't expect someone else to do it for you.

      It was also Jonas‘ chance to get more time into Roglic. Later Jonas had the chance to get time into Remco, too, who‘s sitting in front of him in the GC at this point.

      Like he said, it's understandable and also not understandable. This was a huge opportunity to put Roglic down before the real GC battles start. At the same time Jonas shouldn't have anything to fear from Roglic from what we've seen so far and we know Visma were pissed scared of this stage and aimed to hunker down and just not lose time.

      @@Knofrisshort term gains mean nothing. Fighting Rogelio and Remco is useless. Jonas cares about the yellow Jersey nothing else. The yellow Jersey is won against Pog this year. The rest does not matter AT ALL.

      @@youbetu18 Pog could crash out, then it matters. Sure, it’s all ifs, buts and maybes but at the end of the day it’s never a bad thing to gain time on opponents. They could have pretty much eliminated Roglic from the GC battle today, but they didn’t use the chance.

      Jonas doesn’t like the gravel. I don’t either. I weigh under 130 lbs. so I get bounced around a lot on gravel.

    I dont understand what Remco wanted from Vingegard to go away with him and Pogi at 75 km to go...run away from whom?? Roglic is not a contender..was he expecting that Jonas or Pogi was pulling him to win a useless stage??? Is the TDF not a gran fondo

      Exactly. This isn't a junior stage. Idk what he expected. Jonas is smart, he knew this stage suited Remco and Pogacar way more than him, ofc he isn't gonna pull for them. For Remco to even expect that shows his lack of experience icl.

    Im Pog fan, but for Jonas there was no reason to pull on gavel being one of the lightest riders out there to blow himself. Not to mention its his first big stage with gravel at this level, wich doesnt suits him at all. He just tried survived there and thats exactly what he told in interview.

    You gotta take what they say right now with a grain of salt since the game is on. Time will tell how much having done the Giro will wear on Pogi and whether or not Jonas will perk up after the rest day. Can't take anything for granted!

    TP was the strongest, but JV was the smartest! TP and RE (especially) rode like amateurs. They wasted a lot of energy in moves that were never going to stick. JV rode it perfectly given the bike issue and the dynamic of the 'potential' moves and who was ahead and behind.

      @@rednihb moot point..... read above TP had 'proved' he's the strongest, he wasted energy, when he should bank it for the 3rd week, not on a move that was going nowhere and not one that was going to benefit JV to work with the other 2. Stage 15 proved my point..TP rode smart, let JV do the work and his gap was larger! Also RE could have done with some of that wasted energy from that stage on the last climb last night :) ! and if JV HAD wasted energy on a move in that stage that wasn't going anywhere (for him) he would have had even LESS energy for stage 15. The move wasn't going anywhere from RE, TP should have just let him cook, the front break WOULDN'T have worked with RE! All these points Chris Horner actually outlined and I'm OK with Chris' analysis over yours and it correlates with mine, so yeh I'd still say it was an 'amateurish' move, 'given the circumstance' 👍

    TBH I don't think visma cares too much about finishing off Roglic on a gravel stage by having Jonas pull with Pogi and Remco. That explains that there is really NO reason Jonas would pull. If he pulls, Pogi might get a chance to even catch up the breakaway and win the stage, but Jonas for sure isn't able to keep up with Pogi on a gravel stage, Remco also. No idea why 'Big Ball' Remco wants Pogi to win.

    Pogi was the strongest! Great, he still didn’t gain time. Strong doesn’t show on the score card. Did he try to animate the race, and look for cracks, yes. I would say that over just flexing watts and fitness.

    Why didn't anyone questioning Jorgenson this : how did you manage to stay with Pogacar , when he attacked , if your time trial is so baaaad and on Galibier you weren't there with them ?!? Isn't this amazing of what visma can acomplish with so low riders in so low conditions !?!?!?

    Vingegaard will always just sit on the wheel its all he ever does, he's waiting for the one stage to attack. and of course he has no choice now at some point he will have to.

      First time cycling?
      Jonas weighs more than 8kg less than Pog. It makes absolutely NO SENSE at all for him to be contesting these stages. He goes when it’s a tough high mountain stage. Just like Pog needs to contest the stages now where he is naturally stronger. If you think that’s boring then you are just stupid…
