- Hearing the jaw pop, click, or crackle/crepitus with mouth opening and closing is a very common issue due to TMJ disorders. Pain may or may not be present. Because the ear canal and jaw joint (TMJ or temporomandibular joint) share a common boney wall, any noise created due to a TMJ disorder can also be easily heard.
In order to understand jaw joint noises - clicking, popping (1:45), crackling (2:25) - due to TMJ disorders, the animation will first explain how the joint looks and moves when it works normally (0:25).

Don't be scared because its normal but see a doctor if it starts cracking while you eat or open your mouth

My jaw opens at a 65 degree angle and I opend it too fast and now all I hear is scrapping in stead of pops..
My jaw clicks on 1 side only with no pain and massaging it allows it to resolve the clicking temporarily. My face is a bit asymmetrical as well with my right side being the one with more active and developed facial muscles
What about orthodontic treatment if misaligned teeth are the problem?
@@spion00sexyy yeah, that depends on how agresive the Orthodontist is. They should always go slow otherwise you could loose bone.

I know how to pop my jaws for years... I thought it normal, for me I must have my right hand to push my jaws then move around my jaw to make it pop. But it takes make try until it pop. It felt good when it pops.
I used to pop my jaw too, now I hear a very annoying scratching sound when I chew (or just open/close)
@@spantik4696 my jaw doesn't even do that, my jaw is just normal I guess? But very rare I try popping it. Because I must hold my jaw to push it the sweet spot to pop the jaw.
Mine never did this for a while but tried to pop it and it hurt and now I’m stuck with this but I just ignore it now. Do not try to pop it. Idk how to fix it tho. Plus why do bodies gotta be so weird bro

I thought I was the only one! I can get both sides of my jaw pop by applying light pressure with my thumb, one side at at time. I've been able to do this for years, I've stopped doing it intentionally as of late after showing and weirding people out, everything seems to be fine, haven't popped my jaw since for a couple years, intentionally or unintentionally.

Sometimes when I wake up if I happen to move my jaw to each side left and right slightly it makes a huge crack on each side like that shit is loud
I feel you bro , whenever I try to open my mouth as wide as I can I can hear a pop on one side and it makes a crack here and there but doesn’t hurt , still scary tho . I might get it checked out
@coltonjrowatch6313 SAME DUDE. ITS MY RIGHT SIDE THAT POPS. I suddenly opend my jaw quickly and suddenly it started popping. And then I opend it quickly years later and the popping just stopped and was replaced with scrapping sounds.
I have it since last year and now idk what happened but does it recover it self?
8 years later, mind didn't cure itself. The jaw only turned stiffer and the clicks are more aggressive
That cracking sound due to disc degeneration is a fucked up condition called TMJ Osteoarthritis. As far as medicine is concerned it is completely incurable, it can only be "managed". I'm so fucking pissed right now that my favorite body part is fucking WEAK because of a stupid thing nobody even knows why it happens or how to cure it. I most likely have the best genetics for a human being to have the strongest bite as my skull specifically looks like it was built to have an extraordinary bite and my muscle mass is out of the ordinary. Yet my TMJ disc is not strong enough to keep up with my bite strength, which appears to be the cause of this disgusting condition. Allways the same thing the body starts failing from the weakest point. Now I have to do my own research for a decade so that I can cure my jaw. A man with a high enough intelligence level will surely KNOW that it is not incurable because it can't be impossible as there are so many possibilities.

saame, i can't eat anything , sometimes im not able to even drink it hurts to do anything with my jaw 😫 even sometimes moving my tongue 🙃 I've already lost so much weight , i can't afford losing more , and ive done it all, desntist mouth guard, physiotherapy... still not a glimps of hope ..

I yawned and moved my jaw to each side slightly and it made a huge cracking/popping noise where the jaw connects under the ear drum that shit was crazy oh fuck
i once way back when i was a kid in grade school i always liked to look outside the window but since i couldnt reach it with my height at that time i would jump and jump till one day i jumped at a position where if you got back to the ground the window's ledge would be tangent to your head ( jaw ) inflicting direct trauma.
i think thats what caused mine but thankfully it doesnt hurt hbu?
