- Welcome to Part 2 of our insane detailing on this V10 BMW M5 E60. In this video, we begin work on the exterior - primarily focused on removing the orange peel from the original factory paint. We being with a wash and dent removal, fixing a serious dent in the hood (that required us to remove the entire headliner and sunroof), and then started on the paint correction. We begin by color sanding the entire car. From there we replaced countless parts, utilized some more dry ice cleaning, and even polished the exhaust. We also got to work on fixing the front bumper, painting the brake calipers, and ceramic coating the wheels.

When I saw the price and the word detail I thought no way! Taking into account what you do consider calling this refurbishment or extreme detailing back to showroom condition, etc…detail to the masses implies a wash, wax and vacuum, etc. Looks incredible!!

For that price, and if the engine and rest of mechanics was properly maintained cuz those V10 need a lot of love ($$$), the owner has a brand new car again. Can't get any better than that... Awesome job

These types of details are a labor of love for the owner. This costs as much as the car is worth. But that’s typical of a restoration.

What a huge lie, they did the headlight sprayer covers so bad, the parking sensors and the way they applied the ceramic coating is just plain awful, not to mention they used knock off chinese emblems. Imagine paying 22k to get a bad respray lazy detailing cleaning and Aliexpress crap lmao.

Nice work, as I can see from the video. What about the damaged side skirts (sheet metal edge) on the jack holder, has this damage been repaired? The axle nuts also look pretty corroded. After dry ice blasting, do you seal the areas where screw connections and sheet metal folds are again with wax like in the factory? Otherwise, corrosion will quickly occur. I haven't seen underbody sealing in any of your videos yet. Merry Christmas, I'm looking forward to the third part 👍
They reapply all coatings. Time constraints may have not allowed the time to film it,but it's been discussed before and other vids show them doing it.
Did you fix the pinch welds that were bent?

Original factory orange peel, that's a badge of shame for BMW 😅😅
Always think it’s dumb taking orange peel off. Unless it’s a show car what’s the point and removing the top of the clear coat and the extra uv protection the peel offers

@@IAMDetailing don’t want to make you cry 😂 if the owner wants it then cool. I just think if the plan is to preserve and detail- getting a car looking it’s best - keep the orange peel, you’ll need it later down the line - extending the life of the original paint.
@@truescotsman83ok so we both probably talking about different thing… orange peel is basically defect in the paint, it is unfinished “process of painting” that taking perfect clarity, depth in the paint and all light reflections coming many different directions. But orange peel has one good characteristic especially for large production cars factories like BMw, and thats hiding small imperfections in the paint.
Almost all exotics and super expensive cars are finished with color sanding (aka orange peel removal… if you will look on rolls royce then you will hardly find any orange peel.
So you probably talking about different thing or you had heard wrong information at some point because removing orange peel is not a bad thing. Yes it can be dangerous and you can burn through the paint but if it’s done right then nothing bad about it.

@@IAMDetailing no I understand what your saying but I suppose it’s more about your disposition and how you look at it. Only do what needs to be done. Perfect clarity won’t be there but from 3ft who can tell the difference. I understand what your doing and the lengths you’re going to and it’s cool to watch. In my mind you’re reducing the paint depth which isn’t a good trade off generally difference here is you’re carrying out a refurbishment Sometimes are car needs that but without starting again with paint it can only happen a few times in it’s life. Definitely find European and American approaches differ.

Here in the US this one is $30k+ but yes with service that was done prior detail it was more than the car worth 😅

The only thing missing was a brand tire compatible with the V10 and the service.
Yes, 4 new matching tyres and at least an oil change on engine and transmission, though maybe this is covered in part 3? I’d have liked to see the brake callipers removed for painting too.
The front gets new “Michelin” and the rear Kumho is there for sliding purposes 😅 and not to destroy Michelin in one month.
@timjsmith the car got insane service (over $16k just in parts, no labor) before it got to us.

Great work, but you missed the biggest detail of all on M cars... The BMW logo on wheel caps goes above M sign on the wheel, you've put it upside down... Other than that, I would trust you with my car if I had that money for detailing

So owner pays for the work $22.000+? At that price (which is unreal I belive) you paint the car with ceramic coating integrate or graphene and then you put another graphene coating above not just taking off some of the paint and polish it.. Imo owner overpaid for something that yes.... Here in Spain we ( I would ) do it with something around 2/2.500€..

Check a comment down the line - the khumo’s are only on the rear, and theyre there for sliding purposes to not ruin the michelins in the first month 🤭
