Does someone make a idler sprocket to put tension on the chain under heavy loads? I have seen some of the BRL bikes with it, just curious if its possible with the softail.
Softails do not articulate enough to even need something like that, but it is a pretty neat novelty if you wanted to rig something up. Not really necessary though
Some advice for building up that motor, replace the compensator and clutch basket. I saw you guys build out that street rider and raced it at the track but I dont remember if you guys beefed up the comp or clutch basket.
I bought a comp ramp from cycle rama, and installed it within an evening. Im gonna be putting in SnS rocker arm shafts and studs.
Lots of aftermarket goodies for making that M8 tough.

There’s no need to change the compensator or the clutch basket really they’re both pretty good that’s just someone upselling you parts. Our race bike made high 160 hp ran several races many many many track days and everything worked beautifully

But I replaced my compramp in my bike because I've seen way too many of them blow apart and grenade the primary. There was one guy whos' fat bob blew apart 2 of them with just some bassani sweepers on it.
Wasnt an upsell thing, I saw way too many bikes blowing them up so I decided to replace them.

Crazy I’ve never seen one fail. And we Stunt Ride there’s really no harder way to beat on a motorcycle than that. I’ve seen clutch basket break that’s for sure in twin cam six speeds they are trash, i’ve never seen a compensator fail though they do wear out a bit after time and get noisy. I’d like to see what one looks like the blew up that would be cool

Not necessarily early depends on how the bike is set up, on a six speed we run a 55 on a five speed we run a 51
@kruesioriginals I gotcha. I'm going on with my dirt bike days so that's where my brain is at. That front end is kinda heavy so I'm trying to come up with a plan for planting power at the tire to help with weight tranfer, thank you
