I agree but I must say it doesn't really fit in fact I feel like it would fit jungle zone
I actually liked sonic 1 8-bit more than the original,because sonic 1 16-bit was a pain.
@@averagepsvitafan3838 yeah the game gear version I thought was just a tad better because the level designs in Genesis didn’t make sense because Sonic was made
for speed but Genesis didn’t have that other than Green Hill Zone.
Those electrodes in Flying Battery were from Wacky Workbench in Sonic CD, actually. I'm pretty sure.
The concept originated in Sonic 1 8-bit though.
There's a secret way to skip the aqua lake zone tunnel... I use it every time

@@nikolepsysyndrome7538 Once you use the tubes to grab the emerald, take them back up. Land on the ground on the left, then jump at the wall on the right. At the top of the wall, there's an invisible path that lets you go straight to the level end sign. I'm not sure if the Master System has it too, but the Game Gear does.

Actually, I’m pretty sure the Mania variant of the Bubble gimmick is more-so based on the Triple Trouble version than the 8bit Sonic 2 version - though technically TT did reuse the idea from 8bit Sonic 2.

Even if you collect all the emeralds and you get the true ending it’s not like you will unlock Super Sonic so yeah.
For what happened in Forces with losing rings, I just had my avatar as a hedgehog. they should have made the hedgehog able to at least run faster than the other avatar animals.
they could have gave the hedgehog avatar a boost ability and a homing attack that works only on enemies while the chain attack does the rest for things that you lock onto if you understand what i'm saying.
Actually its proven canon that not all hedgehogs are fast . Only sonic ... well shadow is fast because he's designed like this and he's the ultimate life form(also rocket shoes) and silver is slow if not for his fly ability also silver cant do the homing attack sooo yeah

Also I said in my comment that they should have made the hedgehog species slightly faster than the other avatar species and not the same speed.

The reason why the zone intro pictures are all showing Tails too is because Sega planned to have Tails as Sonic's Sidekick, just like in the 16-Bit version. However, they had to discard this idea due to technical limitations. The whole "rescue Tails" thing was only because Master System and Game Gear couldn't handle Tails as a Sidekick. But the images remained unchanged, that's why they're all showing Tails accompanying Sonic.
My favorite zone? Bridge zone honestly.

- Scrap Brain Zone from Sonic 1 (8-Bit) (in my opinion, Labyrinth Zone theme is also better than its 16-Bit counterpart)

I personally really enjoyed Game Gear's Sonic 2, more on the Master System than the actual Game Gear, I just found the level designs mostly different to the other Sonic games and quite enjoyable, though I agree some bosses were tough and the Scrambled Egg maze was tricky too haha

I like ideas introduced in the Sonic 1 and 2 reimagining but one of the major gripes that keeps them from being truly definitive are the physics, like the basic movement is improved but abilities like the spin dash and spin roll just feel weird and inaccurate. I don't care about the basic movement being inaccurate as the originals were hard to play but if they are going to add the spin dash, it should at least be like a spin dash and not a short roll of speed. I do hope that they can improve it, so that this reimagining is even better but for now it's a between.

Honestly I prefer how the first two 8-bit Sonics have you find emeralds in the levels themselves rather than interrupting the flow of the game by sending Sonic to a special stage

@@Phredreeke no- the master systems aren’t safe either. The resolution might fix the screen crunch, but they’ve got their own problems. Sonic 1 has auto scrolling, the peak design of what not to do for a Sonic Level, something Forces did not learn at all. It also has the occasional contra system, both of those things not being in the Game Gear version. Sonic 2 also still has awful gimmicks like tubes, hang gliding, etc. that a higher resolution cannot fix. Need I also remind you of the terrible boss fights in 8 bit Sonic 2?
I immediately went in and downloaded the Sonic 1 MS remake for Android and now I will never return to the original one that I spent $4.99 on for my 3ds

Hi, yes, you're wrong. The electric hazards are from Sonic CD. Most notably, Wacky Workbench. But you must've been so good at the game that you were never launcher upwards to the areas where they were at. No need to think me, just doing my duty.
