I love the historic angle you took with the Chariots, Marilyn (most of yours are among my faves too!)...
I must confess though...because of my love for and attachment to my historic tarots, in my Top Tarot Trumps Videos I have been including a historic preamble/ an excursion-into-history of sorts (it's my free pass in the beginning of my videos🤣), which allows me to place ALL my favourite historic cards on the table, when I illustrate the progression of each trump through tarot history and into contemporary decks. 🤫
I love doing it, but I'm also very aware of this loophole I have happily created for myself...🤭🥰...and I'm grateful people have had a positive response to the 'historic tarot detours' of mine.

Hi Mascha! That scalloped canopy is all I can see and I'm convinced it made it over to TdM 1 along with the white horses and warrior. Thank you for mentioning the Vachier, I seem to have a memory lapse every time I do a video and want to recall it lol. xoxo ~ Marilyn

Great choices! I like a lot the version of a Venus in the chariot that appears in Minchiates and as well in the Mitelli deck. By the way, in the interviews given to both Mascha and Justin Michael, Marco Benedetti told that the coats of arms that adorn The Chariot card of Charles VI deck, belong to the Medici family, so he concluded that it might be a hint for a florentine origin of that deck!

I love that you are also getting Marco's Etteilla! I was messaging him for the past few weeks as I really want to buy it and also the Petit Etteilla. He said he's going to reserve the two copies of those decks and I am going to buy them when I get my pension for the next month, which should be by the 29th. He has many great decks. Wish he had a Vieville, though. Artisan Tarot has a nice edition but I think I need a facsimile… really love your channel! I hope you will have a safe weekend!
Hello! Artisan's Viéville holds up pretty well as a more affordable option. I think it's the best of their decks. My favorite of all the Viéville decks I have (I have five), is without doubt the Tarot Sheet Revival publication. You can't go wrong with the Viéville, it's marvelous. @@MarilynFromTarotClarity the other one I wanted to get is the SILVILIXI one as it is a facsimile. Vieux Monde also has a beautiful edition. The TSR one is too expensive! But also oh so tempting. If I manage to get it, it would probably become my favourite TdM deck of all time.
@chartsandcards No doubt. It's right up there for me. It's exceptional. I have the Sivillixi (sp?) and for the longest time it was the only Viéville I had. I was happy to have it, but it's dead and dusty compared to some of the others. Regrettably, Flornoy only created the triumph cards. It seems that TSR definitely referenced that deck while creating his (Sullivan Hismans) version.
@@MarilynFromTarotClarity I just got my Medieval Feathers Tarot (I uploaded a video review of it, should be up in a minute!) and I think the creator of the deck based it on Vieville!
@@etherealwavefan94 oh wow. I'll have to check into the Feathers deck to see how it compares. I appreciate how some modern decks honor the historic decks.

Yes! That's it! Thank you. Every time I mention it on film I can't recall it's name. The Trzes news is so exciting! I figured a lot of you would want a copy. I'm not sure if I'll get a copy. If it's the same as the original I probably won't. Boy, it's an outstanding deck. On my 'informed mail delivery' app it said a package was arriving yesterday so in my excitement I believed it would be my Etteilla. (My husband insisted he wasn't expecting anything.) But the package that arrived was for my husband after all. However, I expect it to arrive today which means I'll do the video tomorrow since I have my grandson all day today. I'm so excited about receiving this one. Thank you for hanging out! And for reminding me of the Vachier! ~ Marilyn
