    I've never owned a bass boat. But I've been in multiple & used buddies John boats. I prefer my kayak! I can get it hard to get places boats can't! Kayak is way more quiet & stealthy, less presence in the water too. I have zero problems coming in behind boats & catching fish they couldn't, that they spooked. Though I prefer to fish areas where I don't see other people, part of reason I haven't tried the tournament thing. I just want enjoy mother nature, being on water exploring new & hard to get places. Without headache of other humans! It's paid off this summer, I've broken my PB multiple times. 5 biggest largmouth of this year so far is 8.05 - 8.6 - 9.3 - & monster 11.4 she was 26.25 inches long & 17.5 inches in girth. Safety tip for anyone going un-inhabitanted areas to fish by themselves. Send a friend or loved one a gps pin location where you launched. Better to be safe than sorry. If you got hurt & lost/broke your phone. Noone would know where to look for you!

      I completely agree with everything you just mentioned! I think a lot of others would feel the same way!

    Cool set up, definitely added a lot of goodies to it. I'm sure with pa14 & everything included you probably need the trailer. I've had 2 PA12's now for 9 years. Upgraded to pa12 360 about 2 years ago. I don't fish tournaments but fish 1-2 days a week all year. I finally added my first electronics after last Christmas. An 10"echomap Ultra 106sv, LVS34 system & steady cast heading sensor. Powered by Amped Outdoors 14.8v 32ah lithium. Between sales, coupon codes, Bass pro club points I'm into my entire electronics set up including battery for $2579 + tax. That's cheaper than any other brands 10" unit by itself! I don't have a trolling motor so that battery runs my stuff for about 14 hours on average. I like keeping my set up light as possible & I haul it in my truck & use the Hobie cart when needed. Works well for me. More years I kayak fish more stuff I taken off, except adding the electronics. I do all my rigging myself. I have a 8awg marine grade wire from my DIY battery box in back, running down inside my haul up to my front hatch with my bus bar, black box, fuses. All on plate under my hatch. I bought a sheet of black 3/16 abs plastic, cut out my all my own mounting plates & keel guard. Super low cost & was fun to do. Looks as good as stuff people buy! I run my lvs34 transducer on a Fishing Specialties kayak bow ducer pole, super light & fast deployment. I use a RipaLip sun shade, much better than standard plastic sun shades, check them out! I highly recommend both!!!

    Thank you for watching! I’ve acknowledged that I didn’t list out enough things I would change. Let me know if you see anything other than what I have below!
    - Relocate FFS through-hull higher on the plate to prevent water from getting in.
    - Add a cleat for the Torqeedo reverse cable.
    - Spacers between BlackPak and rod holders to prevent lid from hitting reels.
    - Relocate electronics battery inside hull to reduce weight in the bow.
    - Add Innovative Sportsman Rock Guard instead of prop cutter.

    Nice setup! Going to set my kayak up somewhat similarly with dual humminbird helix. Close one will be for side imaging, mapping, and mega 360 later on. Front one will be 2d/mega live.

      Unfortunately we are only allowed to run one motor in our tournament series so I prefer speed over spotlock. I can get away with using my Torqeedo to stay put in wind or current usually.

    Love the build and what you've done with it. I had asked a question on your other video regarding stowing the Sniper Pole but in this video even though you didn't show how it stows I noticed the 2 clips mounted on the Fishing Specialties plate. Are those just the 1.5" Rubber Clips that Sniper Marine offers? Also one other question are the standard kayak lengths they offer for the Sniper Pole long enough in your opinion for the PA14? (Want to make sure I order the right one) I have a lot of the same stuff on my PA14 such as the FS9 and been obsessing on Active Target and want to pull the trigger so just doing my research. Appreciate your channel and super informative, you gained a subscriber 100%. Love how you reference the people that say why don't you get a bass boat :) I've been asked the same thing and there's just something about the ease and comfort that I love about my kayak compared to my boat.

    • @BrandonHua.Fishing
      @BrandonHua.Fishing  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Hey there! Yes, the 1.5” rubber clips from Sniper Marine is the one that I am using to hold the pole. They are definitely long enough! You can adjust the height in which it sits on the Fishing Specialities mount as well. I get great image with the way I have mine set up.
      No problem also! I’m here to help with any other questions you may have!

    Hey Brandon - GREAT video playlist of your Hobie Ike Rig, I have the same rig - and currently am running the MG xi3 for boat position control, and some light "running" to get from A-B. I'm considering adding the torqueedo to my rig, and have a question about steering. How efficient / practical would it be to do without any steering capability on the Torqueedo, locking it in place to go straight ahead - while running longer distances when going place to place. Would the rudder built into the Hobie PA be sufficient to make the small course corrections needed when running A-B like that?
    The reason I ask, is I'm a fly fisher - and line management is Crucial when fly fishing.... the cleaner I can make the deck, rails, and such of ALL "do-dads" the better as fly line WILL find anything it can to tangle on!

    • @BrandonHua.Fishing
      @BrandonHua.Fishing  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Hey there! Thank you!
      In regards to the Torqeedo, it truly depends on the fishery that you are mostly fishing. I will 100% recommend foot control steering or the Tim Percy steering kit if possible for safety. I’ve tried early on with just putting locking it in place and it made it very difficult to turn with just the rudder without having to slow down. I can see over time your rudder lines getting weak. I love using the instant throttle when it gets windy on the water to navigate through waves and it would be hard to turn and adjust in a pinch.
      If you feel like your fisheries require a lot of turning to navigate, it might be best to do one of those steering systems. It was more of a safety and convenience reason that I did it. It’s nice to fish hands free and navigate too. Hope that helps!
