nice vid tour. Probably should re-hook that anchor into a break-a-way system for added safety. Snap hook at anchor bottom, zip tie loop with rope thru it on anchor top attachment point.

10:05 literally the same thing happened yesterday with my buddies rod on his canoe 😂 he had a top water popper on and you could see it slowly sink into the abyss. I’m just glad it wasn’t mine because I was using the same reel as you were showing there 😂

The year is 2023 how is the kayak now are the drive Bulletproof the 360 or am I still going to break down a few times with time off the water thinking of getting a 360 pa 14. Thanks for doing this kind of stuff
I have the kick up 180 fins. I would not get the 360. Still not super reliable. I am just fine with going forward and back. I would never get 360. So far no problems with mine. I am not easy on it. I drag it to the water through woods etc. I have the Nucanoe with motor now as well. I like them both. I have s place for each of them now depending on lake. I got rid of the motor for Hobie and just use my fins now and that’s it.
Hobie is having a few issues now with their hull because they sent manufacturing to Mexico. But that is not everyone. You never see Hobie on sale but the past few years like right now you can get a 500-800 discount on them because they are hurting a bit. After 20 years of being on top they are taking a hit because of it.
Would I buy it again. Yes. But the Titan X is coming out in the next few weeks and is going to be number one for a while for sure. It’s rated to have 2 motors on it and the pedal drive. Lots of options to choose from these days.
But the Hobie layout and fishing ability with no motor I still feel is kind of on top still. But….kayak companies are trying to over take that number one spot from Hobie. Just don’t get 360. I feel it still has its issues. Depending on how much or hard you are on it. And your welcome. I try to help others with my videos with my take on things.
The hulls only cracked on the old landing gear because it was one solid piece and the shape of the hull is a bent so it was causing stress cracks that's why they came out with the groovy landing gear
I had no problem on either so far, so will always use them. So convenient and easy to use!
@@rjmfishtales normally the old landing gear was only a problem for those who overloaded their pro anglers I'll admit that this was the first time I've ever seen a video from you but it seems like you keep it pretty simple and most folks never had any problems with either of them but I'm sure you know that the internet has a tendency to blow everything out of proportion and once someone had the cracking problem and word got out people started getting concerned and the more it happened the more people refused to use them

So what is the biggest advantage of this landing gear rather than the ones you just slot under the boat? I get it’s already on there and provides extra mounting spots but I would think the ones that mount to the underside of the hull would be able to carry more weight without damaging anything potentially
The biggest advantage is that they work so much easier then the ones you slide under a kayak. When you are by yourself and you need to try to pick up a 200 pound 14 foot boat by yourself, it’s hard to slide a cart under it. I use to do that for about a month and that was it. I went to the Boonedox instantly.
It’s super quick and easier. Not trying to put a strap around the cart so it doesn’t slide out etc. When you walk your kayak over a long distance or even a short distance, you don’t need to waste time going back to the car of truck to take cart back. They wheels just stay with the kayak when you go out on the water.
At this point I have not heard anyone break their kayak from using these wheels. They have sand tires as well. Makes no sense to use a cart anymore.

what rail holds up you Yak Attack BoomStick with the GoPro? My 2023 PA14 doesnt have that....Did you cover that and I missed it?
I might have covered those rails in another one of my walk throughs on the Hobie. They are the yak attack metal ones. I installed them with the supplied hardware. I through bolted and also siliconed them on. Hobie needs to extend their H-Rail farther back or install track at the factory in my opinion.
@@rjmfishtales I agree... I need so way to attach the Yak Attack BoomStick.... maybe I can attach it to my H-Crate.. thanks for your feedback.. I will have to figure something out.. I got my yak yesterday and I am not ready to drill holes in her yet... thanks again
@@LipRipper904 another option is get the panfish pro which is shorter. Mount that to the Hrail of the crate using the Hrail adapter from yak attack.

No sir. Voice control I use for back one and the one on my PFD I press the button when I want to record.
Hay RJ so if you went out in lake erie and a 40 foot 🛳 cruiser decides too go buy you and not slow down , because he's rich and he doesn't care about anyone because your small and poor and he's big and rich and sends a 5 foot wake at you , what's your advice and what can you get away with?
Always pay attention the best you can and square up with the wake itself. If you watch the video below, I put the link there, about half way through I had it happen to me. It happens a lot. Especially in “no wake zones”. Always wear your life jacket!! I also carry an air horn with me if I really need to get someone attention.

@RJM Fishtales just watched it RJ, this is what worries me in my area, alot of people who couldn't care less about are little lives, or they simply don't pay attention, and who knows if they might of been drinking. Glad your ok, but I bet you had many experiences like that, but hopefully no.
The best advice is if you can stay away from larger boats, try to. I know Lake Erie is just one large body of water and you need to go off shore to fish, but if you can find coves with less traffic and can still catch fish that is what I would try to do. For your own safety. I am originally from Jersey, I have had my fair share of unsafe people on the water!!
