This was great. I could have used this coffee liqueur today. Great to see you and Petar working together!
Thanks! It's a great recipe! Beats Kahlua!
Love the intro! 😂 Once I get up and running again, IT’S ON!! Great video!
Haha thanks! I had fun with the intro lol
Had this same problem in Ireland before it went on sale. I had tasted it but couldn’t find a bottle. For those who want to try it - 300ml cold brew, 250ml vodka, 100ml Demerara simple syrup, 75ml Campari. The Campari is needed because I have no idea how mr black gets such a bitter note out of their cold brew as the whole point of cold brew is it removed a lot of the acidity and bitterness associated with coffee
Interesting, gonna try the Campari on my next batch! Cheers!
WOW I love your editing Rob. This looks AMAZING!
Thanks Peter! Checking yours now!
This looks great! Homemade coffee liqueur
Thanks! It's suprisingly easy to make!
Love the labels..
Thanks!
Awesome video man 😎
See. Watching this. I wanna go down a whole rabbit whole of different coffee beans!! I need to make time to make my own stuff. This is ace 👏👏👏
Thanks Steve! I’m already halfway done the bottle ...so there will definitely be opportunity for experimentation
Just stumbled across your channel because I (as a fellow Canadian) had given up hope on finding Mr. Black. What a great name for a series. Too real, man. Instantly subscribed. 😂
I appreciate it thanks! I’ve quite a few homemade liqueurs because of that! ..is there another liqueur you’ve been trying to get but can’t?
@@RobsHomeBar I watched your falernum recipe from 2 years ago, and I wonder if it would in fact make a difference to use the organics, even if it's less shelf stable. But I have never been able to try JDT Velvet Falernum to even know what I am competing with, you know? The other thing we just can't get down here in SW Ontario is the Giffard line. I wonder if you have more access to those across the river at the SAQ. But your whole liqueurs series is great, man; it is super helpful to see these recipes.
That coffee liqueur sounds amazing! Probably would prefer that over any other coffee liqueur because its rum haha. Love the video
The Wray n Nephew works soooo well with coffee (actually it works well with pretty much every liqueur I’ve made haha) such great flavor but it complements without overpowering
Nice work.
I got a bottle of Mr. Black and it's aight. I need to try your recipe because I love rum. Cheers Rob.
The Wray & Nephew is soooo good! Really gives it a good kick!
Yummy!
sooooo good! :)
Looks delicious!
Thank you!
Looks perfect !! cheers🥂
Thanks!! 👍
Now Mr Boack should consider arriving in Canada 🇨🇦 Great video guys 👍
Hopefully it comes soon.. in the meantime! This liqueur is amazing!
Yup can't find it so a scour all the local distilleries and found a bound of great ones(Way way better than Kalua)! Will try the cocktail with one of them later for sure!
I have been living under a rock--never heard of Mr. Black! I need to get out more! LOL
haha... yea it's not available here sadly :(
Awesome! Thanks for helping fellow Canadians create something "close to" Mr. Black. I have been looking for that for a while as it is in so many videos I have seen online. I will be making this now... like right now I have to make more cold brew any way ;)
I'm just filtering a batch of cold brew right now! haha... I'm a little obsessed haha
@@RobsHomeBar Haha yeah, summer I always have some in the fridge for iced beverages. Although I have like 5-6 other ways to make coffee at home too :)
@@MrPeterbuma haha same! Standard drip, espresso, French fresh, you naked it! 🤦♂️🤪 I little obsessed
Oooh this sounds nice! I make mine with bourbon
Next batch, I wanna try Rye :)
@@RobsHomeBar that will be excellent
Maintaining the high quality label work
Thanks! I’ve started something... I can’t stop now!
next time try to grind your coffee finer, typically use french press size grind for a better liqueur
👍6 I am here, brother!
Cheers!
@@RobsHomeBar cheers, brother. This drink is right up my alley. Looks amazing
Great video!!! It's cool to see Peter!!! Mr. Black is pretty good, but now I'm curious to see how it tastes next to the home made. I'm going to have to try this. Thanks!!!!
Try it! It's really good! and you can customize the ratios to your liking!
Tim!!
@@RobsHomeBar After thinking about it, I bet this might even rival Mr. Black BECAUSE it's home made/fresher...
@@iangoodisDMX IAN!!!!!! What's good brother!!!
@@TheSpiritoftheCocktail You said it!!!!!
How about instant coffee! would that work? unbelievable I really enjoyed this one. Loved it. 2 thumbs up Rob
You could try it! I'm sure it would work!
Love the intro and thanks for the double shout out. Lol. Glad you were able to make your own. Great time with Peter
Thanks! It’s really good and the formula is very customizable... next batch, I’m gonna try using rye or bourbon
**Well done just Amazing thank you for sharing yet another EXCELLENT upload. Always looking forward to coming back to see more great new content******Wishing You A BLESS-FULL Week Ahead**🙏🙏 .........
Thank you 🙏
At least you can get Havana Club in Canada!!
That is true!
They don't sell coffee liquor near you? There's at least a dozen brands at my local liquor store.
Obviously more to make it yourself and Ill still try it out but cheaper to just buy it, doesn't need to be Mr.Black branded.
Better yet, pick up some Kauai coffee rum, delicious sipped neat and not so sweet.
Well, at least we have Tim Horton's 🇨🇦
😜
would you recommend making a Dominicana w/ Patron Cafè too?
this inspired me to attempt my own coffee liqueur too. I'm always looking for drinks to pair w/ a good cigar.
I haven’t tried Patreon Cafe… hard to get here… but a tequila based coffee liqueur I think would work great in the Dominicana!
Coffee liqueur should have a little bit vanilla
Interesting… might try it next time, how much would you add?
great video. although I can buy mr. black here in germany, ther eis no way I am paying 30€ for a liqueur I can make myself
Oh wow! That is expensive! Homemade is totally easy to make and you have complete control over the whole process.. how much sweetness to include, what spirit to use as a base, etc..
You just made Kahlua. Mr. Black is made the same way but with vodka.
Spirit used is one factor but also coffee quality and amount of sugar used. Kahlua is far sweeter than mr black
Also mine has a MUCH stronger coffee flavor than Kahlua
how long does it keep?
Mine lasted 6 months at room temp.. but I finished it, no reason it wouldn’t last 1 year + …my banana liqueur is still going strong after 18 months
What’s the benefit of infusing the rum rather than just using the cold brew?
Honestly I don’t know! LOL I would have to test them side by side... I infused the rum to maximize coffee flavor but it’s entirely possible that it would have made little difference 🤷♂️
@@RobsHomeBar I would think you could just make a slightly stronger cold brew and mix that with the rum.
@@NicholasFiennes that would definitely work too!
I can send you a bottle of Mr Black however i find that Mr Black is an extremely strong coffee however I'm not much of a coffee drinker so that may be why i find it strong. Feel free to let me know if you want a bottle of Mr Black and where to send it.
Nope, never heard of it.
Not much of a drinker I guess. Thanks for your vid.
cheers!
The music is working against you.
Would you go no music or just lower volume?
@@RobsHomeBar Best would be to pick more appropriate music but keep it low while people are talking.
This sounds too much like "adventure chase" music you would hear in a TV show from the 80s, to me at least. Try something more laid back and loungey maybe, you don't want to make people feel edgy making a recipe.
Music is tricky because people have different but strong reactions to it, so it's best to keep it relaxed and not too much of a statement, upbeat but not too frenetic.
Thanks for asking and not being all defensive like many creators are. Many people don't realize that I'm just trying to give feedback to help them get better. Most people won't bother even if something puts them off, so it's good to take feedback when you can get it, as you apparently know.
Also, this is just my opinion, I'm not saying I'm "right".
Good luck!
It's not liquor
It's a mocktail
Not sure what that means
See that's why I just
add straight to my
cup of coffee
No pretending
I was heart broken
When I found out
Amaretto wasn't real either😭💔
