It is great to see you back my man! - for a tip, I upgraded to SSD as well but was part of developer/ insider program!! So you have to do a few steps first or it won't work- in this case you have to go to the insider hub and unregister your console from the program, after you do this it should prompt a restart and update- if it does not then you will have to manually restart and then it should update --- after that you are able to follow this tutorial and swap regularly ( and Yes you can re register your console to the program after you swap)

I installed a SSD in my OG XB1 and it’s great and super easy. The UI is smoother and load time are slightly better. SATA 2 is a bummer but there is a noticeable difference. It’s quieter and cooler now.

Great vid! My son got a new Xbox Series X and we decided to give new life to the old one, a One S, by swapping out the hard drive in favor of a 2TB SSD. Your instructions are spot on and made disassembly easy. The only difference is that our One S did not have the three extra screws holding the cover on. I believe this may be due to you having what appears to be the Xbox One S digital only edition (no Blu-ray drive). Our One S has the Blu-ray drive in that large open space between the fan and hard drive; on yours you can see directly onto the motherboard. Once put back together I downloaded the OSU1 file, deployed it to a flash drive, inserted it into the Xbox, booted up, and it ran through setup like a champ. Up and running in less than an hour. Thank you James!

The three screws in the front is because you have a digital edition xbox one s without the disk drive it is to secure it down where the disk drive would have been.

Is the boot animation working as before when you power on the XBox after hard drive replacement? One website says you should manually copy some boot animation files to the hard drive before finishing the installation.
After doing this upgrade, you had no issues with using the machine? Microsoft doesn't see that you have upgraded the internals and lock the system remotely or something silly, correct?
I just installed and ssd into my old xbox one s. It was the best decision i have ever made! The UI is smoother and the loading time of everything drastically decreased. I don't know, but some games work better... or is just my imagination. The SSD is a samsung evo 870 1tb. Overall, a great upgrade! Thank you!
Are you having any issues playing online? No ban from Microsoft? I want to update internally to SSS but don’t want to be banned
@HNIC07 No. Not even in the series s or x were you ban from online... they just released a fix so you will not be able to use the custem ssd expansion card. The ban seems ridiculous and too far for a last gen console. The warranty will be voided... but again... I would be amazed to find one still under warranty.

does replacing the hard drive and reinstalling the OS fix the start up error where you boot into the trouble shooting screen? i'm trying to fix my one s that has an issue like this but i'm not sure if this will work
hay i know this is unrelated to your video but i got a ps vita off ebay recently and i've been trying to follow the tutorials for playing vpk files on the vita but when i got this vita it was already 3.74 and i can't seem to get it to work properly

How we can add the green screen when we turn it on bc it doesn't show the starting screen. Do I have to download it?
I followed the tutorial and while boot up, playing, ect is quite a bit faster, at boot up I no longer see the green startup screen, it does boot up in a quarter of the time now, so maybe it doesn't need to show that screen anymore?

Hello! I cant clone my Xbox hdd using disk genius or similar app to new ssd , and then put it in Xbox ? So maybe i dont lose anything alredy on hdd was.
Followed everything in the vid. I found out that if you're in the Insider program that it won't work. So I removed the console from it, reinstalled the original HDD, booted it up, made sure it was removed. Then reinstalled the SSD and tried applying the offline update with a USB but it stops after 1% and I hear the power on sound. Have any ideas?

Yes, if you lookup update without scripts there are alot of new videos now and it works, Ive upgraded personally to an SSD for my one x

Sony did the hard drive replacement better when it came to the ps3. Simple swap without screwing over the customer.

The OG Xbox one has SATA2, so drive speed will be capped at 375 MB/s. One S and X have SATA3 for a cap of 750 MB/s.

Thst is where I went wrong. Another tutorial said I could just throw me ssd in xbox and put osu1 on usb and it works. Mine didn't work. But o didn't connect ssd to computer first and c create volume

You can clone your old Hdd. If the old one is broken like his was, you can not.
