5 best buildings of 2022 in Prague according to architects

- In the next installment of Live Prague series, we will show you the best architectural projects that have made it to the final of the prestigious Czech Architecture Prize 2022 and which are located in Prague.
An international jury of world-renowned architects selected a total of 29 projects implemented in the Czech Republic over the past year. You can find five of them in our capital.
Which caught the eye of the experts?
Revitalization of the underpass at metro C Vltavská
(Architectural studio U/U)
The intimidating space has become a multifunctional space for fun and meeting. An original skatepark was created here, a climbing wall or a podium with a basketball hoop were added. After a few months, however, the place is unfortunately starting to attract vandals again...
Palace of Electric Companies
(Architectural and engineering office TaK Architects)
In recent years, this functionalist building in Holešovice has undergone a thorough reconstruction. From the original building, practically only the reinforced concrete skeleton and part of tiles in the interior have been preserved. At present, you will find mainly offices here.
Rope making Újezd
(Architectural studio JRA Jaroušek Rochová)
The interior of this well-known rope shop in Malá Strana has undergone a major renovation. Thanks to the successful transformation of the originally cramped space, all offered ropes of various colors and types can now stand out beautifully.
Grounds Cafe and Roastery
(KOGAA architectural studio)
The original interior of this Karlín cafe was created mainly thanks to recycled materials that would otherwise have ended up in a landfill. But here they gave them a new life. The unique cafe is perfect for meetings. And of course for a cup of coffee, which they have here and is excellent.
Residence Bleriot
(Machar & Teichman architectural studio)
The unique housing project is built between the industrial zone and Kbely airport. In addition to its distinctive appearance, this residence is also exceptional in that the individual houses stand in a private park that can only be used by the residents of the apartments.

Kavárna! Můj tip !
Kavárna je jistě zajímavá, ale domnívám se, že to vyhrají spíše bývalé Elektrické podniky.
To je možné... je z projektů zdaleka ten největší.
Tak ta Rezidence Bleriot.
Průchody a podchody u stanice Vltavská snad vyřeší až Vltavská filharmonie. Jinak totiž víceméně vedou od nikud nikam a dalo se čekat, že to budou vyhozené peníze.
Strasne se mne libil obchod s provazky. Bydlim v New Jersey U.S. a tak krasny obchod tady nemame. Chybi mne diakritika, omlouvam se.
Ale vsadim se, ze tam urcite nemate graffiti a jine cmaranice. Ty v NJ a NY byly totiz naposledy v mode nekdy v 80. letech. Mno my v Cechach jsme byli vzdycky tak trochu pozadu. 😀
