Ya. Italians don’t eat breakfast.. they thrive on pure sugar for breakfast then have a snack 2 hrs later. Just a heads up. I am a person who eats a big breakfast normally.. in Italy.. I was drinking coffee with with toast and jam and a yogurt… and having a panino a couple hours later. 👍🏼
We need that legal cocaine to get into work, then we have a standard lunch time where we eat like kings.

Ricotta in Sicily is not the same as ricotta from your neighborhood supermarket..
And a Big Mac in Sicily is also not the same as a Big Mac from your neighborhood McDonald's.
@@ChiIeboy Fanta is different in the US compared to Europe. Nutella tastes different in different countries.
According to a quick Google search the big mac indeed tates the same but other products are adjusted to taste.
In addition sometimes there is a lack of a good translation in English because the product is not common there.

If you look close, they are not eating what we eat in the US - doughnuts with whipped pudding or cream. They are eating something more like bread with ricotta. Probably a lot healthier.

@@CitKat657the pastry itself is minga light, and definitely healthier than a bland donut. The ricotta is actually kinda sour (even with pisctachios, sugar or Nutella) so doesn't contain a lot of sugar (it's a kind of Cheese not a cream)
We do also have fried doughnuts in Italy, this is just a different type of pastry. Southern Italy has tons of pastries, some even local to specific places.
Probably a lot better....
One time in my life I ate breakfast in Spain, lunch in France and had dinner in Italy. I was so happy😂 that was in 2007 😢

Because you need energy to start the day? I very rarely have a desert after a meal. Sugars for breakfast I have the entre day to burn them.
Actually glucose Is the only food out brain cells eat, so Sugar for breakfast helps to wake It up faster , It's the Sugar not the coffee what really wakes your brain up in the morning
I just spent 4 weeks back in my country. All I did was eat. I miss the fresh, delicious fruits and vegetables the most. Everything I ate was in season. I haven't eaten this good since I was there 3 years ago.

I'm American, and we mostly look for salty breakfast. My Mom is from Nuremberg, Germany, and she always wants sweet. She is 94 years young and guessed. It's what you were raised on. I personally myself wouldn't like that breakfast. My Mom would love it.

I love cappuccinos, if I go to Italy I will have it every chance I get, at any time - it’s too delicious not to be enjoyed. Asparagus gelato, I will have it at any time because after my trip ends I won’t have access to that anymore in the uk, at an affordable price 😁

@@stephanieann6622yes, they are not extremely sweet. Obviously they add a little bit of sugar to the ricotta because it has to be sweet, but you can still feel the original taste of ricotta, so the sugar does not cover everything.
@@cla0095I think it is pretty sweet for Italians, but probably not very much to Americas. I have cousins that live in LA, when they came to visit once they tried some lemonade and said it tasted like water. 😅

Where I live we usually have coffee with a carb like bread, couscous and tapioca crepes plus something savory, like eggs or cheese.

I love Italian food but I am not a big fan of the breakfast, for me, for instance, cookies is not a breakfast :) From time to time, I find it okay but mostly I am still hungry and do not feel so well after. The pastries are itself are amazing but for me at another time. And what I will never get is eating brioche with gelato for breakfast ;) (even though it may fulfull a lot of childhood dreams)
