@@dankmetalmemes just take the thickest pick you've got and rip over the strings as hard and fast as you can while hitting random notes with you left hand also as fast as you can. Don't bother practicing with metronome since the best practice speed is always as fast as you can.

We were like “thanks, bye.” I auditioned another guitarist, he had a huge rack effects rig, digital controller, could sweep, play any scale ever, claimed to be a guitar teacher... didn’t listen to the songs, refused to play in our tuning/key, wanted to just randomly shred over our riffs. “Thanks, bye”. Auditioned a bass player another time for a death metal band. He brought a 10 or 15 watt practice amp that was supposedly “really loud”, no tuner, 1000 year old strings. Broke a string first song, declined to learn the riffs, headbanged really hard though. “Thanks, bye.”

I would, however, likely get the "Bro, please stop" reaction, but it would be much earlier in the audition.
