2 separate mics next time. Just having them a little bit closer makes a huge difference. it's the inverse square law we all love.
Its not about distance; it would be if the mic had a circular characteristic, but it doesn't. These kinds of mics here are used to minimize feedback from the side direction. He's using it from the dead end.
Alone software should be able to improve the audio.
This is what I love so much, watching people from start to maturing their web pages, every little change angry astronaut does is like a new facet worked into a gem. I love the live impromptu interviews.
It looks like satellite maintenance and refueling will happen before manned spacecraft do. Really exciting to see this rapid pace of space development.
As it should. I am not sure we want to test new processes in space for the first time with lives on the line
1:12 lol.
Great vid as usual but please think of the headset users, I had just matched my volume to the intro and then I get shocked to my bones by max volume background noise. 🎧❗
Great interview and company! Thank you for bringing it to us!
Excellent reporting and hyper-interesting interview with Krystal Scordo. I found her on linked in and she is a huge proponent of cleaning up "space trash", which is one thing LEXI is good for. It's great, efficient thinking to have the same vehicle also perform refueling as well as re-parking and de-orbiting defunct satellites.
Another great series thank you very much!
Thanks for watching!!
Keep up the good work Jordan.. 👍
Thanks so much for watching!!
@@TheAngryAstronautAny content about potential life buoys in space (i.e. capsules with air and a beacon for spacecraft in need?)
Great interview. She is well spoken and knowledgeable. Really good info.
These can also move enemy craft...probably what the Space Force is most interested in.
Yeah, and to the US, everybody is an enemy....
Thank you very much for Astroscale for giving this interview and of course for you Angry for doing it. Finally we see some developments for cleaning up or extending the life of satellites which would otherwise be a threat for spaceflight in the future!
Can't get a "right now" everytime haha:)
Great Q&A and I loved the rendezvous animation. Great editorial choice for eye candy. You keep getting these great interviews, it seems all these professionals share the vision of us observers, which is fantastic to think about.
Wow! The GEO satellite services are an amazing idea. That is trully wonderful. Never thought I would see that.
On orbit servicing is clearly a growth area in the space industry. It'll be interesting to see how much of a growth area it ends up being.
Nvidia has AI noise removal utilities or am I missing something? Also 2 separate microphones could be an option. This hurts.
Thanks for the update and views 🇺🇲🇺🇦
Good job, Angry!
GREAT CONTENT!!. Gotta do something about the sound when interviewing in open/public spaces, please.
Space station go BOOM 🤯
Great job as always...is anyone else nervous as hell about Boeing test flight with actual people on it 😬😬
For a moment I thought the RL-10 was a Dalek.
So cool!
They tested the concept of refueling satellites during a shuttle flight
Look forward to the interview with Anti Grav expert saying....."we've had this understanding for at least 60 years...would you like a Spin? Let's start here first".
I can see a Starship tanker in space being used to refill these satellites that refuel smaller satellites.
There's just no keeping a good idea in a bottle. Refueling of spacecraft has many implications; extension of satellite life and safe retirement of spacecraft are only two. How about refueling spacecraft that go searching for junk to de-orbit safely? Astroscale has at least a handle on fuel tank size refueling, but as space grows some of its more ambitious projects, we'll need refueling for refueling stations, and refueling for fuel storage capacity. (Think refinery-sized, power plant-sized storage, perhaps for whole colonies, much less research outposts.) It's great to see a going concern focusing on this aspect of space infrastructure. SpaceX got a lot of attention by making it a feature of Starship, but its goal was never to do this as its core business. It just recognized the need for it to accomplish its own goals. But everyone else is going to need it too. Room for everybody!
I hope it all works. It might go a long ways towards reducing the need to replace satellites that can still do the job just because they ran out of fuel.
very good interview new things are getting me angry
Great interview and coverage of a somewhat ignored or just not news worthy enough by a lot of 'journalists' these days. However its a real real pity that the audio again was causing more distractions with comments from others about how they're gonna sulk and not listen to anymore, kinda slightly detracts from it.
Seems to me like adapting this approach to the market for collecting space junk and de-orbiting it or using the raw materials for collection and reuse in new applications is something they need to think about pursuing.
I'd say your mic is not omnidirectional. She came through just fine but you sounded a mile away.
great
Jordan "I have one final question for you... What are you doing for dinner tonight?"
How many times did she say “ecosystem”?
Has any of Astroscale's on-orbit satellite service technology been actually tested in space? Or is it only on paper as a sales pitch?
An excellent question that I do not believe was covered
Well done on the audio in a noisy environment!
OK, since Angry is apparently comparing Astroscale with SpaceX, then can someone tell me when Astroscale plans to colonize Mars?
And how many here believe that Astroscale will beat SpaceX to Mars with a manned landing? 🤣😂
😂😂😂
Are they actually transferring fuel or are they working as a tug? Both will be needed.
Could LEXI be fitted with an extended/retractable solar sail (Ie, Star Wars) as a fuel extender?
Great vid. But U should really get ur self a second mic for these interviews. Lots of great small mics out there .
Great but mate sort your sound out
WOW amazing the space industry trueley is innovating technology.
Refueling sats, decommissioning grave yard services, orbit cleaning services. There's a multi million dollar profitable investment.
🚀👀👏👏👍
Why do people keep making such a big deal of basic plumbing in space.
The scale is different, not the science, or the engineering.
Am I missing something?
How about we speculate on useful things? Like what are you going to do when launch prices are 100 times less?
It should be illegal to put something up that can't come down.
Seems like a presage to robotic astronauts....
Have Space Wrench, will travel... salary DOE.
The audio quality is atrocious
The way she keeps saying "geo orbit" makes me think she doesn't know what she is talking about.
🎯
Ask them about UFO's buddy. You can do it. Pretend it's your next Girlfriend
to imply spacex is in the planning phase while these guys are in the doing phase is just click bait. doesnt sound like they have any practical experience yet with any of their "planned" procedures.
Angry at AA! You're using the mic from a dead angle. Its near to impossible to hear your questions and during the interview, this becomes an annoing distraction.
These mics are made with a certain recording characteristic, to minimize feedback from all directions other than where the operator stands. For a job like here, you either use a mic with circular characteristic, or you use two microphones. If you had a tech, he'd know this.
BTW, what does she mean with "geo orbit"? Is she talking about geo-synchronous orbit? How is their satelite able to move in orbit? And where does that tini thing have a depot to refuel other satelites in their orbit? And, what do they think how long these long & thin extensions will work? To me, it looks like they'll produce a lot of new space debris in the highly important geo-synchronous orbit.
🚀🏴☠️🎸
I think you have a bit of stockholme syndrome regarding Spacex. Just so difficult to give them props, right? Spacex is changing the landscape of space engineering so fast. Probably putting a lot of em out of work, right? Sad.
ok ok You need someone who knows how to get rid of background noise.I'm less than a minute and I've already decided I'm not listening to the rest
Not only noise; needs balanced input from the speaking. Gotta take the proper mic for its proper use.
