R-Type II is the sequel to R-Type, which was first released in the arcades in 1987 and profoundly influenced later shooting games with its charge shots, unique weaponry, and grotesque enemies.
That being said all other weapons besides the DNA shot are complete garbage.
Because of that reason power-ups including speedups are more deadly than bullets.
Obviously the trick to playing the game is to make clever use of your force to deal with every situation as you can make it shoot behind you as well make it move on it's own. It can block bullets as well as damage enemies.
It's pretty much impossible to recover from a death unless you have a plan of attack for every checkpoint in the game, which I didn't feel like making.
The 2nd loop besides increasing enemy aggressiveness and rate of fire also drastically increases the amount of health enemies and bosses have which can be a pain sometimes.
I milked the stage 5 and 6 bosses for some extra points, it's not like doing it is any hard anyway.
Furthermore the JP version of the game is a lot harder than the other versions of R-Type II that were released. In the other versions they pretty much removed all of the enemies that come from behind.
2-6 was so much clutch holy shit. - Hry
After playing R-type and Pulstar for 8 hours straight I now see the world in slow motion.
instead of those brain games that are supposed to make u smarter, they should just have people play rtype
R-Type II! Oh good times, R-Type has some pretty freaking awesome titles to it.
But yes the fact that power-ups and speedups are deadly is still very silly, plus the Bydo Empire is quite grotesque, indeed. After I figured out what they did do, it was pretty darn creepy stuff.
>many planets were invaded by the evil empire and turned into DEATH STARS
Thank you for the wonderful video
5 dislikes ? Silly people. Amazing gameplay Jaimers. Your skills are huge !
TBYVGS BOS ... cause he missed
Christen Stephansen "No-Miss" is arcade terminology that stands for no deaths.
Jaimers91
Fucked up terminology, then. Should have been "one coin" or "one credit". But I'm sure you say "shmups" and not "shooters" as well ... tard -.-
Christen Stephansen do you even comprehend the notion of what a "death" is in arcade games
Vulcapyro
Yes, and I even comprehend the English language, too.
What else? -.-
Could've typed "no death". Nope. Decided to be a liar instead. He missed.
This game was the bane of my childhood.
Wow! Nicely done.
Excellent play!
"If you are playing this video game outside the country of Japan, you are involved in a crime.. STOP" haha
Hey jaimers great run, I have a question about your autofire settings. since you have autofire enabled on shot.. how did you bind a second button to use the charge through mame? is there an extra setting? I usually dont use autofire for any of my runs but i wanted to try it .
Shmupmame 4.2 gives you the option to map custom buttons. Just set up a second shot button without the autofire on it. Word of warning, don't use a too high autofire rate with this game since slowdown often eats your inputs.
thanks for quick response, ill try it around 30hz thanks!
2周クリアおめでとうございます。
Just watching the player (tool assisted?) smash nearly 100% of the enemies with ease on the first level, I'm surprised the Bydo empire didn't say "We just sent 300 enemies including Bob the massive laser guy and Rachel the metal plated end-boss eye beast against one poxy ship and he handed our multi-buttocked asses to us on a platter... Sod this, I'm off to an easier galaxy to conquer".
No TAS, Jaimers is that good
I have a question. How do you managed to obliterate the fourth stage boss in a matter of seconds like that? I play the ps1 port and that boss takes forever to kill.
how much time does it take to become such a pro?
it is a heavy price, you must remain a virgin
Well, I'm on track then
Nice. I REALLY hated this game for like everything. never knew there was a second loop. And yes 2-6 was MAJOR CLUTCH. BTW, can I request for a 2-ALL of R-Type III - The Third Lightning? That game begins calm but then punishes you in the end. And I know you like playing hard games so this should be the game for you
I like this game
But too difficult to fun
How did you kill the boss of stage 4 so fast? When I shoot him the fucker just won't die.
Wow the loop as well. Was not expecting that. The other R 9's survive on the loop yay. I used to keep the shotgun power up from stage 3 all the way to stage 4 boss for a quick kill, and now I see all I had to do was stick the force in there wow. I guess you can kill stage 5 boss but the time out is safer? I go in not shooting with force on back, beam blast the centre weak spot, move my ship in side, release the force. It destroys top weak spot, then retract it and it gets stuck by bottom weak spot. That wouldn't get you to million points would it?
これアーケード版ですよね。
銀色の金属の弾みたいなのが超高速で飛んできてやられてしまうので、ラスボスは安置使わんとクリア出来なかった思い出がある・・・
いいえ、これはゲームのコンソールバージョンだと思います。
Bad ass game
激ムズでした。
I hate that it pretty much forces you to have the shitty blue lazer for the final boss, not that it makes much difference but still
Hard as FUCK!!!!!!
oh hey i have one of those for my SNES :D
But i've never beaten it... it's friggin hard (and i was to young for that)
Are you a bot?
The SNES port of this game had major performance issues, but way better tunes imo. The soundtrack of that version is probably my favorite OST of all time
É difícil esse jogo.
You missed one at the beginning
darth flagger No miss means no lives lost, not enemies killed.
yeah you play good, BUT not good enough for me !
