Probably one of my favorite Dragonball Z moments.
I agreed. The biggest reveal of the series, Piccolo cares for gohan and sees him as his Son
The reason why this was such a defying moment was because it showed piccolo finally crossing the line of bad guy to good guy and showed he wasnt just heartless like his father. It also such a huge moment for the story as kami knew what was coming and that is death and no dragonballs leading to namek and just countless great moments
I know it's an unpopular opinion but I like the Japanese music with English dub.
I always prefer the japanese music with the English dub.
Have you really tried japanese? I started with us dub, then wanted to experience uncensored, original - us dub is NOT a translation, they changed so much, censored etc. I found out that is... Way better. There are certain moments that just doesn't work in us dub. Roshi fight for Ten's soul at Tenkaichi - way better in Japanese. Goku, little Gohan... Absolutely fantastic voices even in 1989 mono sound :)
Overall I highly recommend.
Also - to much taking in us dub! They just won't shut up!

For 20ish year my favorite colors have been purple and green. I didn't know why until my daughter asked me why I liked those colors. Back in January. I thought about it for a long while. Eventually I realized it was because of Piccolo. I didn't have a dad growing up, SSJ2 Gohan was my favorite DBZ character. It took the retrospective with my daughter to realize I love Piccolo. I wanted to come back to this video after I realized this and remembered it

I do agree Faulconer's score was terrible but the English version made nearly no changes to the story literally wtf are you even talking about? Why americans think it must absolutely adding dialogues while original version don't have it ?! They are not necessary at all ! They even retire the emotion of this scene ! Sometimes, silence express more emotions and intensity than useless talking !
Tom I agree with you, Tom...this scene in the original version it's just perfect, I love it, also, the scene in Spanish from Latin America is, by so far, better than the american scene.
