    We did stingray city with a private company and it was much cheaper. There was a photographer on board and we bought a flash drive with all of our pictures. I think it was $25 or $35 for that and my friend and I shared it. Ours was one of the few tours that actually let us feed the stingrays because there are limits of how much they are allowed to be fed. I wish I remembered the name of the tour.

    I think I have the perfect do-it-yourself excursion, for Dee and Jay. It's cheap and easy, that's why we have done it many times when we have been in Grand Cayman. So we exit the port area, and take a public bus to the best snorkeling and beach ever. But MAYBE I shouldn't give it away, since it's always serene and uncrowded when we are there. Ok ok, take the public bus to cemetery beach. So the bus (looks like a van), is easy to find and cheap, like $3 a person. Cemetery beach is located on 7 mile beach. This beach is quiet, has a few picnic tables, trees, and wonderful snorkeling. One thing to note, there are no bathrooms or restaurants on this section of the beach, but that is why it stays pristine. There is a good variety of fish, and the entrance is so much easier than Eden Rock and places like that. I get a little nervous climbing slippery ladders, when the waves are rough. Last time we where there, we seen at least 25 varieties of fish, lobster etc.

      Nice! We haven't delved into public transport there, but that's awesome. Yes, the slippery ladder was the most nerve-wracking part when we went over to Don Foster's. Something from a beach sounds lovely, ha ha... thankee!! :D

      @@ShelbyAvery120 We don't leave our money or ship cards in the bag on the beach. Both my hubby and I have bathing suits with pockets in them, and we swim with our waterproof camera. So nothing of value is left on the beach. You can also swim with a waterproof lanyard, but I would rather take less and not deal with the lanyard. Boy I miss cruising!

    My family and I will be taking our first ever cruise in July 2022 through Carnival and I stumbled across your channel and LOVE it! Quick question I have: One of our stops will be Grand Cayman and I am wondering if those who purchase excursions get priority boarding the first few tender boats. (We spent a week in Grand Cayman a few years ago and experienced much that the island had to offer, so we were not planning to book an excursion.) With that said, we would like to spend the most time we can there and didn't know if there is a system in place to try and get on the first few tender rides that go out in the morning once we get to Grand Cayman. Thanks !!

    • @parodeejay
      @parodeejay  Před 2 lety +2

      Yes, usually the excursions go first, loyalty status goes second, then it opens up numerically for folks using a tender sticker system where you register onboard and receive a number, starting with group 1 and working lowest to highest.

When I was younger, I could dive quite deep and even though I can still hold my breath a lot longer than average, my big problem is getting under. Now, I float _way_ more than I want to.
