- so today i was in a mood to see how each franchise in the nba stacks up against the others in terms of all-time success! obviously the lakers & celtics have won the most championships, but does that mean their all-time teams are goat as well? i put all 30 all-time teams into ONE league simulation today to find out on nba 2k23...

a major difficulty in these simulations is setting the right playbook, coaching style, and rotations for each team, otherwise the game will just default to modern-day schemes - so while a roster may have good players, the cpu will never play them to their strengths bc it's programmed for modern positional play. the Celtics for instance would have Bill Russell on pick and pops bc that's what Horford does, but obviously Russell can't shoot 3s so the plays would never work. still a fun experiment but even more "accurate" if you manually change the settings.
In all-time, most people play as Lakers or Celtics, I may be a Celtics fan, but I always go for the Spurs because Manu has an insanely good no shot meter accuracy. He's the only player I can consistently hit green three's without the shot meter, Tim can hit all post shots basically and David Robinson is a rebounding beast. It's like Magic Johnson, I have him on for 6 minutes and already have double digit assists, I put A.I on, gets 3 assists in the rest of the game...

Considering that I, as a Bulls fan, have never heard of Bob Love, All-Time Bulls shoulda had that Shaq/Wilt Duo starting the last two years. Wilt probably gets bumped to PF just because Shaq probably needs to be at Center more.

Honestly I've had more fun putting in the top 30 teams of all time and simulating a couple years with the salary cap turned off. Then i sim through one game in the playoffs and choose 4 teams after seeing who's on what team now.
Had one where Klay, Curry, and Durant (from 2012 OKC) all ended up in the Nuggets with Jokic. Unreal.
Shaq, T-Mac, Penny, Grant Hill…. How is that a surprise for the Magic being so good? Lol
well, hope we'll see that in heaven after some years
Do this again but remove duplicate players and move current greats(like Luka, etc) to teams that lose duplicates.

Put a DB without doubles in At teams and completed db: Alltime no double... Another one with at least 12 players in classic teams and 3 extra classic teams: 93 Suns, 09 Lakers and Magic, Db: Historic... Other teams coming soon

even though they will put this on real world(in their primes), some players will not work out with the chemistry
I’ve been trying to put the all time teams in my league(season) but I can’t, it just show me which era do I want to be. Doesn’t let me change teams or anything. How you did it?
To add all time teams you have to start a league, go to “change teams” and then choose which all time team you want to replace the team with

Bob McAdoo Buffalo Braves legend. Shouldn't even be on the Clippers, he never played for them. And yes I realize the Braves eventually became the Clippers but he was traded to the Knicks before that happened.

no 2k games could really create a close performance of Michael Jordan. I saw some simulations that in crunch time, Jordan is not holding the ball. 2k should work more on MJ's tendencies. Show them his competitiveness. C'mon 2k Sports
