I cherish my locs because The Universe created me with everything I need. Eyes to see, feet to walk, tongue to speak, teeth to chew, I was born with hair, so why shave it off ?? Once you Find the beauty in yourself you’ll never care what someone else think of you.

He got his facts wrong. It was the Mau Mau fighters from Kenya who grew locks while fighting against the British colonizers in the jungle in the 1950s and inspired the Rastafari movement in Jamaica. Ethiopian fighters did not grow locks in the 1940s.

    Shiva wore locks .
Rasta in Jamaica 🇯🇲 took parts of Hindu culture and made what they have -
The ganja seed came from Indian workers arriving in Jamaica
The locks have a much deeper history than what was described in this video

Define “Idol” in context of “exactly” what the young man is quoted as saying. Don’t be biased in the process.

Firstly do not say “Jamaicans”, its Rastafarians. Rastas exist all over the globe, you’d be surprised there are some even in Japan. Second Rastas don’t call Haile Selassie Jah. Jah is God and Selassie would be Jesus… Thirdly to say Jamaicans think horn Africans aren’t black is a lie, sure some of us will say shit like that but I once even told a Somali guy he’s black and he was like “I’m more Arab” dude is a few shades darker than me.
Not every rasta worships Selassie, others just venerate and respect him.

Hope most guys wearing them are only doing it for style etc. Hope they dont believe this nonsense because this is some foolish blind sheep reasoning and the story is completely fake. Thats not even the origin and thats a dumb reason for wearing locks/not cutting their hair even if the made up story is taken as fact.
