The Order of Coronation book translates the title to Amharic as "Birhane Alem" however it refers to it as an "innovative" title and gives no date for when Haile Selassie allegedly obtained it. Many western newspapers reported that Haile Selassie was the "Light of the World" in English however this isn't accurate. Haile Selassie isn't the Christ according to John 8:12 and there are no official Amharic government documents showing His Majesty acquiring the title "Birhane Alem." Without any Amharic sources the title is unofficial; it's just another misconception promoted by historical Rastafarians to suit their narrative. Only Primus St. Croix is the Light of the World i.e., the Christ.
This the only thing I dont understand aboit Rasta culture, I have a high respect for it. But the Selassie praise I dont get... he was the same as western leaders, but the Rastas will just say its propaganda when its facts and documented.
