- This is the first in a series of videos that will show you the progress on our Vintage Camper Renovation. It is our understanding that this is a 1953 Va-Ka-Shun-Ette Camper by the Zollinger Trailer Company out of Elkhart Indiana.
We are certain this is going to take us a long time to complete, the hope is that by posting videos it will keep us on track!

I searched for seven years on line looking for a va-ka shun-ette.I have a 1954. Wen l saw the the staggered windows on the door I new what it was. I am renovating mine , but had a lot of setbacks
I was wondering what state you live in, because I have a step you my have.
This looks exactly like our old scotty.
you have a great shell to work with..not too surprised about the water damage..at least the shell is not beat all to pieces..
The shell looks a but better than it is and removing it has done some damage but we think we can replace a few pieces to make it a but better in the end! Thank you for watching!

I love the quilted aluminum panel below the front window and how it ties into the side panels, any updates on the progect?

Do not keep that original tank if it’s pressurized,those tanks have a life cycle on the welds and can blow up like a bomb when pressurized
Thank you so much for that feedback. While we did not know that my husband was wanting to put in a new, bigger capacity tank. With this info it is a must!! Thank you again!!
That is not true, all pressure vessels that are inspected by osha are only checked for wall thickness deterioration using ultrasound, if no corrosion has taken place the vessel is perfectly safe . Welds are the strongest part of the vessel due to thickness and composition of the weld.
