    Wow, great stuff. I have unintentionally lost 25# in the last 7 months, almost entirely muscle. I was skinny to start with, down to 153#. Still working out, and playing golf. Doing the Jonathan OTTO protocol to reset my gut biome, cleanse the parasites and hope that helps. Leukemia survivor . All bloodwork and thyroid normal. Cut gluten, dairy, sugar and prepackaged foods for the last 11 weeks. Learned a lot in your video.

    Thank you doctor. I'm from India. I had embarked on a weight loss journey in July '23, when I weighed 91 kgs (approx 198 lbs). And by 1st April '24, I had lost 10 kg or 22 lbs. Was very happy. But then, I lost another 22 lbs by July 24 i.e. in 3 months, without any additional effort. Did a USG, blood work and even PET CT scan. All are clean (except for a long standing subclinical hypothyroidism). I am scared now.... though I've more or less stabilised at 71 kg (157 lbs) over the past 3 weeks. Testing for H.Pylori soon.
    I wanted to ask if non-disease cachexia can be reversed. To put in perspective, I've also lost adipose tissue fat.

    I had a tattoo infection in 2014, and was given bactrim. I went to the ER 24 hours later feeling like i was having a sever reaction to the med. They told me to tough it out and stay on it.
    Not long after, i began losing weight and was diagnosed with SFN and POTS.
    I started at 205 lbs, and went to 180 in 6 weeks, then 170 after about 3 mos. Now im 160, nine years later and i eat constantly.
    No doctors can figure it out. It actually seems like they have no interest in figuring it out.
    Ive seen Dr.'s at some of the best hospitals and they just think the infection caused a neurological autoimmune issue.

    My lack of sleep during the past five years has been caused by a new, stressful work that I started five years ago. Another thing to notice is that my girlfriend and I moved in together about the same time she had a 10-year history of weight loss. I have undergone a complete physical examination, but they were unable to identify the reason for my 40-pound weight drop. Could you please tell me on what could be causing my weight loss all over my body?

    • @TheHumanCondition
      @TheHumanCondition  Před 2 měsíci

      Changing diet and stress can be a factor, so can the gut biome. You both may now share her biome, and that can mess a partner up sometimes. I am not saying you need a fecal transplant to fix it, just consider gut flora together. Don't forget toxins in any and every illness. We are brainwashed to ignore all the metals and pesticides and food additives and fire retardants and xenoestrogens in our lives when we seek a diagnosis for any thing.

    @The Human Condition can you make a video with how a histamine reaction ( or whatever is should be called) happens in the gut. If I eat specific foods - aged meat is one- within 30 minutes there is an extreme violent evacuation of my gut with no control - no stopping it in any way. Lost 60 pounds. Had every test known to gastro medicine with no findings.

    • @TheHumanCondition
      @TheHumanCondition  Před rokem +1

      www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8069563/
      Sure, the gut has an enzyme called DAO that is supposed to break down histamine, but we either make or eat too much histamine due to undermethylation, metal toxicity, or other deficit. We can reduce the foods, support the methylation, and take DAO to help out.

    I am surprised you didn't mention diabetes. One of my friends husband began losing weight and found out he was an untreated diabetic. I myself have lost about 1 pound a day over this past week without trying. I been considered pre diabetic for several years but got caught up in snacking on sweets in our home. One month ago I had a severe cramp in my foot while sleeping and I stood up beside my bed to try to work the cramp out. The next thing I knew I was falling backwards in a dead fall smashing my back on the edge on my night stand. I was in horrific pain and at my waist on the left side I had very bad bruising on my back. A trip to the hospital showed 3 fractured vertebrae. I have been pretty much on bedrest since then, cutting out all sweet snacks. Over this past week I have seen myself lose about 1 pound a day, which is making me nervous. I love losing weight but have the feeling it may have to do with the injury and may be diabetes related. I am at this point of not knowing what to eat because I also have kidney disease stage 3 and I am not sure what I can eat to help with both conditions. Trying to get in to see a doctor here is a nightmare since the past pandemic. Next week I will see my primary care doctor for the first time and I have been waiting for 6 months just to see him. I was given the name of a kidney doctor here in Los Angeles and tried to see him but he is a "concierge doctor"
    that basically takes no insurance and you have to pay a large yearly fee to "JOIN HIS PRACTICE!" I worked for doctors for years but this was a first for me!
    Anyway I am still losing weight and don't know why.

    • @TheHumanCondition
      @TheHumanCondition  Před rokem

      I should have mentioned diabetes-these videos are limited to 12 minutes usually for the algorithm and we have to choose what goes in each episode. I have seen my patients with stage 3 kidney failure and type 2 diabetics recover from keto and carnivore diet management with lab testing.

    i slept one night, and i woke up the next morning feeling like i lost some memory, my body was slow to react, but i was ok, no pain, but i felt a bit weak, and sometimes head ache, and now have lost weight, my urine got a bit colored and i couldn't control my bladder, but i managed. i wake up in the morning and i feel down and i am shaking a little. After 3 days i went to see my doctor, my glucose was fine, blood pressure as slightly high, 144/98, he took EKG and it was normal and sent me home. I went to see him again after 1 week and i will feel a bit week, weight loss 100kg, i used to 104 and I'm slow in writing and i worried. what could be wrong with me?

      I would find a compassionate functional medicine clinician to help find the deficiencies, and if there is a need for counseling, that can help too with the loss. I would pursue bile imbalance and start with macros -protein, fat, carbs and lectins first if it was me. Look for the root cause as the stress fades away if possible.

      I would go for second opinions and more extensive lab tests and imaging if I was stuck like this. I would also probe my medical history for family, environmental, occupational or past medical issues that involve lymph nodes and sheck the teeth and gums and ears and sinuses. I would look at mold too. No fever? Let us know what happens!

If there is no access, consider that plant antinutrients are a large cause of gastritis for many people, and an elimination diet can be useful for many. Let us know what happens.

      That's a good question I am not sure. Does it only occur while losing weight? You mat have to ask your local clinician about things like is it all over the body? Deep or surface? Does it come and go in intensity? Is it the same at night during sleep? You may need an exam too to check the nerves. Let us know what you discover. Some people get pain during apoptosis of fasting, but this one needs more attention.
