I know, right? 🤦🏼♀️ I can’t help but wonder how the people doing the donating would feel about that irony if the H for H’s ReHome Store told them of that potential eventuality? It’s not a good look. Doesn’t represent well. = (
Exactly! Why don’t they have their stuff on a sliding scale price system. If it sits there for a month, the price drops, another month, the price drops again. On a shorter time frame if need be! You can’t tell me someone wouldn’t have snatched that up if it was only $25. Anything seems better than DESTROYING it and tossing it!!

It infuriates me to see that Habitat destroys and tosses perfectly good furniture.
It might have sold for $100 for the chair and $200 for the sofa. Dumpster fees must be unreal. Unneeded expense!
Daddy needs a trailer when he goes to the Humanity dumpster. When he is there if they cut the main chair up and not the big cushions he should bring them home for new dog beds or kitty cat beds. Great haul Frugal Daddy.
That's a great idea to make dog beds and cat beds out of the big cushions. Maybe someone else will be inspired to do that. 😺

My grandma made mini folding beds for when we visited by attaching fabric panels to 3 couch cushions so that it would fold out into a bed.
Habitat for humanity destroyed donated items, denying those who need them but can't afford them,shame on them. Congrats on the great food haul especially the salad kits - so pleased you rescued the tasty finds ENJOY ❤

You can get slip covers to go over the cut furniture and use it and no one would know. Just wip stich the cut areas so that they will not tar more

Frugal Daddy.......you need to start thinking about a little truck. If you are hauling furniture (and nice, new furniture), you have outgrown the station wagon. You never know what else you will find. New appliances may be next.....every dumpster diver needs another freezer and/ or refrigerator. A little truck will be perfect for all that you find. You are one of the best. Frugal Mommy does not waste anything. You are the perfect pair (pear....LOL).

And how quick they are to discard it instead of reducing the price or donating it elsewhere. In our town there is a local organization that accepts used furniture and household items that are then used to furnish homes for families coming out of homelessness. Gotta believe there are places like that near this restore. Plus our local organization will even come and PICK IT UP!
Anything to do with the government funding it and nonprofit are basically just fronts to swindle more money out of the public assistance programs…like goodwill…they hire hard to hire folks out of rehab or jail…so they get to say they’re a 501c3 tax exempt…they fail to mention they only pay those poor folks $2-$3/hour and work them like dogs

It was funny watching FD loading the chair into the car. I like the chair, it's a nice color.
I'd go back and get that furniture and go get some liquid stitch and a piece of material. Take the material and put it under the cut spot, put the cut pieces together and put liquid stitch on the cut. Put a piece of parchment paper or wax paper on top, and Iron the cut. Boom it's fixed!!!!!😁😁😁😁😁
Fantastic score! This infuriates me just as much as Aldi throwing stuff away! I was watching another channel I can't remember the name now, but literally her whole living room was filled w so much stuff. Enough to feed 10+ families for a few wks if not more. The amount of waste these stores do is ridiculous. You guys are the OG's of Dumpster Diving! ❤

Our Humanity store puts the stuff outside under the awning for free, you got to be there when it gets put out to get the good stuff but we have got some good building materials
your sweet onion dressing is, sweet onion, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, dijon mustard, celery salt, black pepper, and poppy seed to the bowl of a food processor. Process until smooth.
You don't even know Amy how happy I am for you nobody deserves to get stuff more than you and Frugal Daddy if this keeps up you'll have all new furniture in your whole house how wonderful

Well, I’m gonna tell you something my aunts use to make when I was a youngster. And I’m now 77. I know you all probably love peach cobbler, I loved cantaloupe cobbler. Cook the cantaloupe in some sugar water and use it to make your cobbler. It’s delish😊

You can always freeze tomatoes,I freeze them out of the garden for chili and other things.
My mum used to reupholster furniture as an occasional hobby, all you need is a large upholstery heavy duty staple g.u.n (in case CZcams censor!), get that fabric off (referring to the couch frugal daddy panned over that they’d cut 🙄) & you’ll always find fabric on sale or online, you can sew large buttons onto the back cushions, but if the main section is damaged get that staple g.u.n. out & have fun. Lots of great videos here on CZcams if you’ve got the time - flip the furniture & make some money.
Angers me that any company would throw away perfectly good furniture like that.
I love cucumber and onion salad with a sweet vinegar dressing especially after it has marinated overnight.

You can also freeze chunks of cantaloupe and make italian ice or sorbet or ice cream from them! Delicious even a cantaloupe agua frescas or phillipino melone...which is just cantaloupe sugar and water!over ice of course!
Love the chair! Don’t understand the super high prices on items donated here. No wonder they don’t sell them. They should be donated to people in need like they are supposed to be. Makes me so mad 😡

I buy that Artisan lettuce here in Canada. I put a little water in the bottom of the container and it keeps fresh for ever. It is the only lettuce I buy as there is no wasted leaves.

I would put a sofa cover to hide those cut Mark's, and for the tables that are scratched up either paint or decoupage
I also love the sunflower salad kits. It’s the perfect mix of greens with lots of yummy cabbage & kale. Fry some cabbage with the bacon bits. Yummy.
Habitat for Humanity need to change their name. It’s such a shame that instead of giving the donated home goods to ppl that they were intended for, they prefer to destroy/throw in the dumpster.
I was going to ask how they sleep, then I realized, very well bcuz they have no conscience nor heart for the less fortunate. Sad.

I love that FD has taken to doing drive by rescues. You've got some fabulous fruit and salad items. Plus that lovely chair. It does annoy me that HFH destroys donated furniture if it can't sell it. They could donate the items to charities etc 🤬🤬🤬

Fabulous chair! Love the food haul, too! I’ve tried making my favorite choppy salad and it cost me a lot more than the packages. Plus, it made six times the volume. I bought heads of cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, i have the seeds and cranberries and the dressing. It’s worth it to me to just buy the package.

These are good to make egg rolls! Just stir fry your hamburger or pork and throw in the bag of cabbage mix and wilt down add your seasoning, soy sauce, garlic, salt and pepper! Use egg roll skins and fill and seal edge. You can fry these or spray with baking spray and bake them in 400 degree oven for twelve minute or until golden brown and crunchy!

yummmm, I would blend all of the melon up with a bit of ice and enjoy dinking agua fresca with supper. No need to add sugar unless you want to. Melon is excellent for digestion and good gut health.
