    Loved this. I've always shot JPGs but now with my new A7iv I'm shooting in RAW. And intend to start out with Lightroom. But I've wanted to get some idea of a workflow before I start. This was very helpful. I really enjoy your presentation style and you have a new subscriber. Hopefully you've also got some Lightroom tutorials as I'm a total newbie there! Thanks!!!

    Thank you so much for this Video Olivio which is most helpful! I have lately changed from Canon to Fuji and at the same time from Lightroom to Capture one, which was a major change in my editing workflow. The way you sort your pictures is very smart and exactly what I was looking for. And it also fits very well with the session based workflow in C1. Using Adobe Bridge for the selection makes so much sense and allows me to import only the pictures I want to keep. Again, thx a lot!

    Maybe not the same exactly but windows explorer can already sort your photos by camera maker, camera model, dimensions, F-stop 35 mm focal length, location, exposure time and frame rate, and any tags you give your files.

      This would be a useful starting point for me. How do you do this please?

    • @OlivioSarikas
      @OlivioSarikas  Před 2 lety +1

      You can do that by right-clicking on one of the photos and selecting one of the suggested values or click on "more..." in that same popup to see the other functions

    Olivio, great tip near the end on a "Selected" folder and why to create it. I already use many of your culling-workflow methods and need to adopt the Selected folder as well. RE, your folder choices, is there also a reason you use your own "Photos" folder as opposed to the Windows-provided "Pictures" folder?

    In Adobe Camera Raw you have all the editing functions of Lightroom, including the ability to sync changes/settings to multiple files. You don't need another software for that.

    A really good and comprehensive review thank you. I have a question, I shoot events with two cameras and would like to import both cards into one folder and then with Adobe Bridge have them all show up but based on "time" so that all images are in the correct sequence related to "time" do you know if this is possible? Many thanks in advance

      I think you would have to transfer the files from one card to the other 1st. Then go to the card you have transfered all of the files by and sort by time.

    I shoot raw plus jpegs. What I'd really like to know is how to manage both of these and then manage the edited photos as well (both AP files and exported jpegs for printing). Should I keep them all and how can I manage them? I'm in a mess! Thanks for all your great videos.

      That depends on how many photos and if you shoot individual projects or have a ongoing catalog of your life and traveling. If it's project based I put the chosen files in a selected folder and then the finsihed files in a finished folder. You could also put the AP files inbto the finished folder. for raws and jpgs i would keep them in one folder, since you see which is which easily anyways, but that's up to you. I found that less folders works better for me, since i'm lazy and i rather have a lazy system that works than a sophisticated system i don't use

    Thank you. Can you view ratings made in Bridge in Affinity Photo, if so how? Or do I have to adopt your idea of creating a selected folder? Thanks.

    • @OlivioSarikas
      @OlivioSarikas  Před 2 lety +1

      I'm not sure you can, but you can set AP as an external editor in Bridge by going to "preferences -> file association" at set the file types you like to edit in AP to AP

  • @martynunyabussiness8134

    Great Video! Do you know of any software besides Lightroom classic that can do a 2 picture side by side comparison I believe lightroom classic calls it "2 up"

      Unless they recently changed something, yes it is. I have used Bridge for years via the adobe creative cloud, without a subscription. All you need is a adobe account. But that is free

    • @OlivioSarikas

      You can literally google Adobe Bridge and the first result tells you it is freeware.

      Bridge is FREE. Off course you need to have an Adobe ID to sign in
