  • I took the train from Bodø to Mosjøen and back again. The Nordlandsbanen (Nordland route) train line is a beautiful train ride between Trondheim and Bodø. Not the best weather, but you can still enjoy some beautiful winter scenery on this route.

Along the British we Swiss are also train enthusiasts. So we are only topped by Norwegian train lines. The few times I was in Norway I used a hired car, also to follow the exact route of this film once. Of course I would have loved to enjoy it aboard a train but wanted to be more flexible with stopping and diversions. Either way I find it very touristy your trains run so slow you're actually able to see something in the film. ;) This is the way of travelling - slowing down and visually inhale nature. Thanks for having shared.

Yay, a train video! I'm kind of surprised that section of railroad is not electrified. I suppose that far north presents many challenges in building and maintaining it.
Either way, it's beautiful country to ride through.

Electrification will be very expensive because of all the tunnels are to small to install electric lines in. It has been discussed using batteries for driving through tunnels.

@@tommyovesen Interesting... that is one problem I wouldn't have foreseen, but it makes sense. No reason to make the tunnels bigger than they needed to be at the time.
Using batteries makes sense as long as there is a quick and easy way to get aligned with the electric wires again on the other side.
      21st century problems, haha.

Tommy, I spent nine years living in Bodoe - way back between 1976 and 2005, and had the good fortune to travel all over 'NordKalotten'. Looking forward to go through your footage of beautiful Northern Norway. Have you ever gone by car to Ornes? A beautiful ride in every season. I used to roam around on Mesoy planting trees during some summers in the late 70's - a long time ago. Thanks for sharing!

Sorry for the late reply :) Thanks for watching! I have never driven to Ørnes. I been there with Hurtigruten only. I plan to drive that way soon.
