- Today I’m sharing my minimalist cleaning routine, and showing you some of the things I do on a regular basis to keep my tiny home tidy and clean! ✨ One of the things I love most about living in a tiny house (*EDIT* Kyle just informed me that it's actually 408sq ft not 480 but who's counting lololol) with minimal possessions is the ease with which I can maintain and care for our home. So let's do it! Here's my minimalist clean with me video!

MINIMAL HOME KEEPING TIPS
1. I forgot to mention in this video but I do one load of laundry per day to keep laundry at bay. It seems like doing more laundry would defeat the purpose of doing less laundry but I really feel like it's one of my favorite habits, it means I only spend 5-10 minutes on laundry rather than an hour on the weekends.
2.By keeping the counters mostly clear, and not letting dishes pile up, I am able to quickly clean the kitchen and surfaces with a Branch Basics multifunction spray and then move on to the floors.
3.Tidy up whatever is out on the floor.
4.Vaccuum the hard woods.
5.Spray and wipe down the bathroom.
That's it! If I can get all this done quickly, or just have extra time in the week, I'll spend about 10-30 minutes decluttering a specific spot in the home like I did with the kid's drawer in this video.

Loved this video! Your content is so refreshing and encouraging! You’ve inspired me to be even more engaged and intentional with my time with my kids (I’m also a homeschool mom, so my kids and I are at home together a lot, but there are still areas in which I need to grow in being more present with them).
I also love cleaning my home and find so much joy and contentment in having a clean and organized home! I listen to sermons or worship music while I clean, so it’s also such an edifying time for me.
What I noticed for us, is that the amount of items my family and I possess have more impact on my ability to maintain a clean and organized home than the size of my home does. I used to live in a 300 sq. ft. home and it was always messy, cluttered, and disorganized. Now we live in a 4,000 sq. ft. home on 3 acres of land, but we are minimalist with the items in our fridge, pantry, homeschool curriculum, etc. that I find this large home much more manageable to maintain than my small one was. When you don’t have a lot of things, it’s unlikely those things will get cluttered!

Our 1800 sq ft house feels like a burden to me every day... Even though most would say it's too small for a family of 6! I would love in the future (dare I say..) a smaller kitchen, smaller bathrooms and no freakin blinds ugh... So much work!!! LOL
ugh I dream about a house your size lollolol good for me to hear haha I just can't see us making the tiny house work with more than two kids.
@@MadisunGray it's honestly a great size house and no stairs. But what I don't like about newer homes are the huge bathrooms, too much kitchen countertops, and giant master closets... And the 2 toddlers throwing everything they get their hands on, on the floor 😂😂

LOVE this so much. we just bought our first home (a duplex!) & are downsizing to a 532 sf unit. i'm so excited to live more simply. i actually had a question about your dish cleaning process... our new place doesn't have a dishwasher so wondering what are the bare minimum items to have out in the sink to get the job done? at least in your experience :) for some reason a normal sponge does not cut if for me. lol. thanks, girl!
Thanks Laurel! That's so exciting! Ok well you're in good company, I don't have a dishwasher either and it's fine! It;s not aesthetic but the scrub daddy or sponge daddy? lol it gets everything off of everything. Also having a bottle brush for cleaning glasses and cups comes in handy!

My husband made the toy cubby and the woven baskets are from IKEA!
If your looking to get a play kitchen for your kids the IKEA one is very affordable and easy to clean.

Do you use duvet clips?! If so, can you share what kind? My husband is trying to convince me to ditch the duvet because it doesn't stay in place. 😅

Just over here binging all of your videos, I love that unlike many families it seems like the longer you've been in the space the more you've simplified. I've got two boys, ages 2 and 9 months, so I'd be really interested in a kids wardrobe tour. I try my best to keep their clothing simple, but they get so dirty that it's not uncommon to have 2 outfit changes a day and this mama can't keep up with laundry if they don't have enough clean clothes!
